well my swing has changed a good amount and now my that my big high cut is gone and i hit a nice mid-high draw im hitting strong 7 or just a smooth 6 200 yards

To advance the ball 200 yards I hit PW, PW... and sometimes PW again ;)

 

But really the shortest club I take if I need to reach 200 yards is my 4 iron, but depending on my ballstriking and other factors I occasionally hit my 19* hybrid or 3 wood.

What about if there is wind and you need to hit 200 yards into a green. The stinger is meant to go low and run down the turf. I wouldn't suggest hitting a stinger into the green......

200 yards to the green with no water hazard in front = 21* hybrid. In reality, I layup about 50% of the time though.

I believe he answered the question about wind in his statement. His shot isn't going to run all 200 yards on the turf (unless he is just that good that he can basically putt from 200 yards out). More than likely, his stinger flies about 185-190 and then bounces forward and then checks. Plus, if there is wind, why wouldn't he want to keep the ball low? If he hit the ball high, he would be having to hit a 4 or 3 iron in to account for the ball's potential to balloon. To me, the stinger play makes perfect sense.

You did not get what I am stating sir. I am asking if he is 200 yards out and hitting into a green with wind in his face. A STINGER IS A SHOT THAT RIDES LOW HITS THE TURF AND RUNS!!!!!! " The thing is they don't check, hence why I said that you can't hit them into the green from 200 stiff.

 

Maybe I am wrong though, perhaps there is a new stinger out that is not meant to get distance from rolling. That is why Tiger perfected his stinger, was to keep it low hit the turf and take off like a bat out of h*l*. Does that clarify up what I was meaning?

But seriously with calm conditions I would hit an all out 7 (never happens cause it would be stupid), usually a 5 iron though.

I just read a little bit in Golf Digest about the pro's distance with a 6-Iron. And it was something like off the fairway 165-170 and off the tee 185 was the average distances based on information from from shot link.
