Wish I could, but I'll be up in the Torch Lake area that weekend -- Playing Sundance @ A-Ga-Ming and Hawk's Eye on Saturday and Cedar River on Sunday. If you want to do something in early October, I might be able to sneak away for a day...

I know that for sure. We had our DC/MD/VA outing a couple months ago. I had 17 say yes, by the day before it was down to 8. And that was playing locally. it is tough to get everyone to coordinate their schedules.

We also play an annual event that is 54 holes in day, individual stroke play tournament. Tee off at 6:00 am and finish about 8:00 PM It fills up in February for a June date, so getting everyone to commit in February for a day in June is pretty tough, but we have had 8 guys the past 3 or 4 years. It's probably the one MUST play date on everyone's calendar.

Jeff..you will be plenty ready for 2 rounds from the tips after next weekend. Your boy Paulie only plays all the way back...along with Tiger and Me.. you can play one up if you want though . I may be the shortest hitter with Tiger and Paulie leading the way. No par 5 will be safe in 2 out there. Hopefully, the weather cooperates.

The fairways are as firm as runway tarmac when those guys play over 6600. My ego is just fine playing 6200-6600..... thank you very much.

Come on now, I hit 10 of 28 fairways the day we played FD in May -- and only 4 in the round I played with you. Glad I used up about a half dozen good ones on the range in between rounds. Too much long and wrong in my game this year.

Nothing wrong with playing the tees that are the best fit for your game. It's no fun when you're hitting fairway woods into par 4s on a regular basis. I'll play whatever tees everyone wants -- it might be kind of interesting to see how it plays from the II tees.

For me I got lucky this season and a a crack at Warwick Hills (once), Salem Hills (three times), Lakes of Taylor (too many to count), Riverview Highlands (also too many to count) along with a lot of other munis. Its been fun but I'm ready to travel a little bit. Michigan has more golf destinations than i could have ever imagined.

Funny you mention the Terrapin...I was playing with a buddy on Sunday, probably the best player in our group but he doesn't post much SHTERP and he has a Turtle Head cover, I kept slamming the cart cover down on top of his head and he told me to be nice to Timmy the Turtle. I said I thought his name was Testudo. He said "that's just a stupid name, I call mine Timmy" Still don't know what a Terripan is, but I can't speak there are so many disputes what a Tar Heel is as well

Hey, wait a minue isn't Easy from the Detroit area, maybe he could hook us up with a course in between that's wants to host the event in exchange for some promotion on the site.

As for Dustins list...we have a member on our side Priceless who has a very similar list of all our local must plays. Last time I asked him to join us he said he couldn't "He HAD to go play Caves Valley" which is one of the most private courses in the DC/Maryland area.
