Is he going to use a g20.
It is looking like he is going to switch to the G20 driver and the Anser wedges. In the process of fitting right now.
He has always played the ProV1, but is going to try changing to the ProV1x this off season.
His tournament scoring average is 71.6 right now for all events in the last year with a high round of 78 and a low of 66.

He is on both PING & Puma Junior Development Programs.

Deerslayer,

You are doing a great job with your son Stratton. My Daughter is showing allot of promise in the game I credit it to her high competitive drive for a five year old. She cant wait until she can hit it as far as her older boy cousins 6&9. We have one Sunday a month where in the evening the family all gets together to play 9 holes with the kids at the club and after last Sunday’s round she says “ dad I just need to win one hole and after that first time I will beat them all the time.” I asked her are you having fun? she said “yes, but it would be allot “funner” if I was beating the boys.” I said you beat your sister didn’t you, she said “I am suppose to beat her she is not even 4 yet and all she does is chip and put.” It’s funny because we don’t even keep a score card, but the kids keep track in their heads between themselves.

I want to keep it fun for her urging her to focus on having fun and not so much on results, but I don’t want to dampen he competitive spirit. I am willing to take golf as far as she wants to go with it. Right now she loves the game and even likes to watch the PGA and LPGA tournaments on TV, but like my wife says next week she could have the same passion for soccer or dolls. Any advice you can offer on the topic? I look forward to seeing the WITB when Stratton gets his new stuff.

Mtn,
You are doing exactly what you should be doing. Support her and let her forge her way. By the sounds of it, she will be in for the long haul. Make sure she knows that you will do what SHE needs to be sucsessfull and it works much better. the overbearing riding dad thing is not the way to go imho. For some reason we see more of that in the girls. I have a daughter that had a TON of potential, great swing, good disposition etc. She played in junior high and by her freshman year, expresses that it was just not her thing. I am still bummed about it, but what am I going to do? Force her to play? No, some kids have the passion for it while others don't.
How much does this custom work cost?
Custom Ferrules: $15 (Cell-Parts Mfg)
Custom Paint Fill: $5 (Tamiya X)
Custom Bag Embroidery: $50
Custom Knit Headcovers: $110 (Travis Headcovers)
Custom Magnetic Putter Cover: $55 (AM&E)
Custom Players Towel: $60 (Players Towel)

We do all of the paint fill ourselves, so it is just the cost of the paint.

Thank you for the reply it is encouraging to know that we are doing some things right. I keep looking for that manual on how to raise kids, but I never can find it, so it’s allot of trial and error and advise from those who have gone through it. Thank you again.

i am pretty OCD about keeping everything in my bag TM and black and red, but you my friend take the cake. This is an unreal setup, from the clubs to the color coordination. I need to step my game up.

Ping G20 Tour S Flex
Ping G25 5-UW Silver Dot, red/gray NDMC
Cleveland Halo 19* 2h
Callaway 54*, 56*, 58*
