RAW XFT Wedges?

Hey guys, just ran across these, maybe I am behind the times but I have not seen a set of Raw ones yet. I will be honest i dont care for the XFT Wedge, but these are sweet...

Yeah those are sweet! I just don't know how hard it would be to find the faces to match. I know where you can send that 60* though!!

Bit of a stupid idea if the face plates don't turn the same color... What good is a rusted wedge if the face is clean and shiny... Defeats the point of trying to take some glare off and feel (subject I know).

Yeah I know that those 2 faces are raw, but what I meant is down the road it seems it would be difficult to acquire more raw faces. Hopefully TaylorMade might make a raw finish their next wedge offering. Makes sense to keep the technology but with more options and not totally ditch the XFT concept. It might not be a giant hit with everyone, but most of the staff players use them. Must not be a bad idea!

for the tour guys they are great, get the right specs, keep the wedge, just keep swapping the faces... i have a feeling these are one of those things that will never make it to retail... would be nice though...

Those look great.....I love my regular XFT's and I'm sure those are great as well.

There are some tour only raw XFT faces that would do nicely. I am intrigued to try some but no clue where to start looking aside from holding up a Taylormade tour van......

I always thought rust and screws were a very bad combination. I've never had a "good" experience trying to work with screws, nuts, bolts, etc. that have any rust on them. I can't imagine how a "raw" club with a removable face attached by screws is going to last that long. Isn't one of the pro's of these wedges longevity?

the screws and the bolt in part of the faceplates are a different metal, a shiny metal, probably stainless steel. only the face plate and actual wedge are raw.

That would be the case if a carbon steel base material was involved, but the xFT is Stainless Steel base, hence the likehood of rusting is greatly reduced.

I've worked in restaurants, construction and garages and have learned and been told that all steel (stainless, carbon, etc.) will rust. Having said that, I know that stainless steel takes longer to rust, but given we're talking about wedges, they see a lot of abuse (sand, grass, dirt, water). Raw clubs don't have the added "finish" like chrome to help prevent rust. I don't know how long the xft wedges would take to rust to the point where it effects the screws, but it definitely wouldn't be good when it does. I'm just wondering how easy it would be to change the face out when one of those wedges starts rusting.

Again, I loved my 588 RTG and I'm getting to the point where I should get new wedges (my CG12's are a little long in the tooth) and would love to get something like my old RTG.

Quality stainless will not rust. I have seen stainless outdoors near the ocean for over 10 years. Doesn’t have a spot on it.

I remember seeing these at in one of the tour stop photo sections from last year. They didn't have raw faces and they did look pretty strange. Raw on raw XFT would be awesome and would need to find their way into my bag. All my irons and wedges are raw except my XFT wedges.

Taylormade still hasnt released the wedges back into the stores, they could be releasing these?

it seems like the retailers never release raw, probably because 9 out of 10 people call up and say WTF its got rust. hahaha.
