Best Public Course in PA, DE, or NJ near 95 or NJ Turn Pike

I am heading up from Northern Virginia to play Bethpage Black and want to stop on the way and play a good course. Any suggestions?

Stop in Delaware and play Bulle Rock if you have not already.

glen mills in pa is great

Mercer Oaks is 5 minutes from 95 close to Princeton, NJ.

Makefield Highlands is a good course in PA right before you cross into NJ (again, just off 95).

There's lots of others that people will chime in with.

Some others in PA, about your half-way point, within 30 mins of a detour depending on time of day:
Glen Mills, Lederach, or Wyncote.

All four are worth going to, and going a bit out of your way to get to.

Both Wyncote and Lederach are more than a 30 minute detour from I-95. Lederach is at least 40 mintues from I-95 (with little traffic) and definitely not worth the extra drive IMO. Wyncote is probably even further from I-95 from that and, given all the driving that you will be doing, not worth the extra drive either.

Since Bulle Rock is within 10 minutes of I-95 that would be my choice hands down, although I'd also give consideration to White Clay Creek in Wilmington too at half the price of Bulle Rock.

Not new. It's extremely good and has hosted a Nationwide event (may still).

Private yes, but not that new. Course opened when I was about 9 or 10 I believe so like 93-94. Hosted Nike and Nationwide events for about a 10 year stretch. Great layout, tough as nails course too and the practice facility is second to none.

If for some reason you are ever up this way (why would anyone come to Scranton willingly?) drop me a line, best guest policy going.

It has been a longer and cooler winter and spring here as well in Maryland. I think we are finally getting golf weather.

Does that invite apply to me too? My in-laws live up that way and I go up a couple of times each summer.

I'd welcome any member that actually contributes to the betterment of this place to drop me a line if you are in the area. When I am not in the office or at the gym I am on the course and isn't entertaining new people considered an excuse to play without backlash from fiancee?

I would definetly also say Bulle Rock, considering its a trip where you are adding Bethpage to the golf course resume, Bulle Rock isnt a bad one to have on there also.
