putting new shaft in sasquatch

Yesterday i went to golf galaxy to get my sasquatch reshafted, and the guy said he couldn't do it, and that he would have to send it back to nike. He also said that it was because the epoxy was different and that it would take 2 hours to take the shaft out.

Has anyone had the same problem.

I talked with a pro at Golf Galaxy a few days ago about reshafting an SQ Max and he did no tmention any issues.

I would go somewhere else, I did my own and it came out just fine.

Myabe because Golf Galaxy gives you the biggest BS ever. My friend took a 904F there to get it reshafted and they said they couldn't do it because of the aluminum hosel tube...he took it somewhere else and they mentioned no such thing. I seriously doubt it would take 2 hours to take the shaft out because the epoxy was different??? What a joke...

golf galaxy actually reshafted my sasquatch. droped it off saturday night and picked it up monday afternoon. absolutely no problems. also had a local club maker reshaft it a couple weeks before that and there were some problems with the epoxy he used curing because of some unusually high humidity, but no problem removing the shaft.

Seems like an employee that should not have been handling your request. No Issues and they could easily do it in 30 minutes (if there was no work to be done "ahead" of your club)

Only problem i had was that the head would not budge for a while, just need a good puller and patience.

Yeah, wow. This just reminds me of why I hate superstores like Galaxy and Golfsmith. Do yourself a major favor and find a reputable clubfitter and clubmaker in your area. Don't even think about getting fit for clubs at a Galaxy or Golfsmith.

I have to disagree with the statement above. There are good and bad clubfitters and clubmakers both in golf super stores and local stores. Odds are higher that you will find a reputable clubmake when his name is on the store front, but I have heard bad and good experiences from both ends.

Please understand that I did not mean to say that all Golf Galaxies and Golfsmiths are horrible places to have club work done. And not all independent channel clubmakers are good clubmakers either. But, for most customers Golf Galaxy or Golfsmith is viewed as the be all, end all of golf stores. There is a fantastic head clubmaker at the Golfsmith near me. But, in my opinion, to get the absolute best fit and work done you need to find an independent channel club builder who has a reputation for excellence in his trade. Talk to him about his fitting philosophy. Ask around, see who plays equipment that he has done.

It's probably because he didn't know how. He may have been just one of the salesman filling in or maybe he was new. Who knows? But I will say this. I had my Sasquatch reshafted there and he did it in 45 minutes which was nice, however, 3 days later when I went to play my first round the head came lose after my first tee shot. I don't know what kind of epoxy he used but it was not secured.

The shaft should take any more than 5 minutes to pull out, the only reason he would want to send it back to nike would be for any warranty issues if you bought the club from them to start. It's a .335 tip and should be easy to reshaft, I should know I reshaft hundreds of clubs each year.

Had my SQ Tour reshafted with a UST Proforce V2 and there have been no problems thus far.
