Bettinardi FIT Face

Softest feel around!

So a little background, I have been through many putters over the past couple years trying to find that combo so milled yet very soft. I went through a dozen or so Camerons, from old oil cans to a Newport 2 buttonback. I never had the guts to man up and go for a tour putter, though many times I was close. All were nice but I could never really get that soft feel I wanted. The buttonback was the closest I came to that feel. So I got onto the Betti bandwagon. After a talk with Jimmy from Bettinardiltd I decided on the BB8 style head since that was the Anser 2 style I love. My first purchase was a Studio Stock # 8 with the FIT face. This is a soft carbon putter with a beautiful finish. This thing is by far the softest rolling putter I have ever held. At first I thought it was the soft carbon, until I picked up a Signature Model 2 this week. This is the BB8 style DASS FIT face. I am usually kinda leery of SS putter since I need the soft feel and tend to blow putter by the hole. Well after about an hour on the practice green I can say this SS putter is just as soft as the carbon #8. I can only assume its the FIT face, it is so soft it really feels like a insert. At first I thought it was to get the ball rolling, now I realize it all about the feel. Bettinardi has done one heck of a thing with this face and anyone who wants the softest feel in a milled putter you can get (my opinion) this is a thing to try. THank you again Jimmy! Awsome work!

No disrespect to mr. cameron but im totally on the betti parade. I finally found a putter that I can play the old i(z) and bomb every club but still have a nice feel in the putter. LOVE IT...

just trying a bc2 mizzy/bettinardi with a FIT face, it's the earlier version of this now refined result you own...awesome looking ss putters there.

sadly, they are out of my price range, but they sure look sweet..

FIT face is a milling pattern that is milled over the honeycomb face, it is not an insert, the FIT face gives a bit of a softer feel than the Bettinardi honeycomb face

Sorry for bringing up an old topic, but I'm really interested in the Betti's with a fit face.

Does the BB1 seem to be the best option for an Anser style head with the fit face?

The FIT face technology is simply about reducing face contact whilst maintaining the flatist possible surface, some of the newer FIT faces are down as low 45 or 40% of the face making contact with ball hence, the softness of feel. Here is one of most extreme milled faces currently available.

The F.I.T. (Feel Impact Technology) face that Bettinardi has produced is all about feel. By removing 55% of the material from the face, it results in a much softer feel at impact. Kuchar's putter that he is using right now has the FIT face on it so I think Bettinardi is on to something with this.

Do you happen to know what the difference is between the regular FIT face and the dimpled FIT face thats posted 3 above?

I don't know anything about Betti's different models, I've been a scotty fan since I started playing.

I really want to get a Newport/Anser style head.

The dimpled FIT face on my 3/4 is currently the most surface area Bettinardi can mill away without compromising the flatness of the face, or at least thats what I asked for. The FIt face on the BB-8's pictured from the OP are the standard horiztonal milled found on most of the production models with the exception of the 2013 SS series which have the Hex shaped milling which takes some 55% of the face outta contact with the ball. I'd suggest the 2013 SS series need a very soft face when weighing in at 358g but, it'll iron out some of the kinks in your stroke.

There are various different FIT faces around on some of the Tour and Limited Edition models, which you're best off asking Jimmy or Nick the Betti Reps about.

Regards to what ^ said, the 2013 Studio Stock line is all fit face, in addition to the Signature 6 Series which is one of the best mallets I have ever putted with because of the feel and perimeter weighting. If you are looking for a Newport style head with a fit face, the Studio Stock 14 is the one you should go with.

if only i there was a Jam out there with a fit face and 360 grams. I would buy it in a heartbeat. bettinardi for some reason just doesn't seem to make putters that heavy. (at least that i have seen) Nice putters fireguy

I just got in the 2013 "Hex Face" SS14, it is quite nice, and also heavy. It puts quite the nice roll on a ball, and looks amazing.

Practically all of the tour/custom putters being pumped out by Bettinardi may come w/ a FIT face if you have the $$.
Some retail putters have it, i.e. the Queen Bee models did not have the FIT face and were released last year.
