Interesting that Hogan did not finish low and left, a very full release. I have a three CD set with this match, Littler-Nelson and Sarazen-Cotton. I don't know if they're still available new, but I bet there are some on the bay.

I have seen that episode. Hogan hits every fairway and green in regulation!! As I recall (and it's been awhile) the longest putt Hogan had that
day was maybe 15 feet. I think he finished 3 under to beat Snead by a shot.

There was a long rain delay in the shooting that added some difficulty.

Sarazen said afterwards it was the best round he'd witnessed.

hogan at 1:12 where they slow down his drive...at the top of his back swing, his left hand does a move, like a bulging up, cupping...

is he adjusting his club's face angle that way? wth is that action?

Hogan could work the ball either way and it sure looked to me like he cupped his left hand and opened up with a little hip shove to hit his sweet push cut. That is only what I thought it looked like -- and I don't claim to know what he was really doing. It always looked effortless and flowing. He used to hit balls at a special area at Shady Oaks CC in Ft. Worth. His normal laser-like shot looked like it had a welded flat left wrist. He clearly used what would be called a weak grip, and squared his club with a strong lower post up and clearing move. Poetry would be a good word to describe his shots, but jaw-dropping might be closer to the truth -- even when he was an older golfer and played very little.

Thanks, that was one I did not have - Shell's WWoG was not easily accesible in Denmark.
