Am I LONGDRIVE MATERIAL?

Swiss longdrivers are tired of the same line from golfers referring to us as roided out freaks using illegal equipment. You can't hit a ball 400+ yards I am not a scratch golfer but I am not blaming you for the set of irons you use. I use a 4* driver on a 3X shaft CPM about 279. I launch the ball around 11.8* with around 2100 spin you can probably spin a ball back on a green to 5 feet, I can not. If you can't do it, don't talk smack about those that can and bust our a$es to do so. Joke or not.

Swiss longdrivers? WTF.gif

Should be a comma after "swiss" he's directing that statement at "swisstrader".

Ohhhhhhhhh. That makes a lot more sense than someone on golfwrx speaking for all longdrivers in the nation of Switzerland.

With 9.5* Razr Hawk tour 45" shaft. This is based on my best swing on trackman 2 days ago. My "real" swing is an effortless 118 MPH and im curious what i could get up to with a Long Drive specific club. i have never been able to even swing one.

Swing Speed: 127 MPH
Ball Speed: 189 MPH
Spin Rate: 2450 RPM
Launch Angle: 9*
Total: 346 Yards

Pretty darn good. I think you should go for it!

Those numbers are in range, but you are going to have to get the speed numbers up a bit, as well as the launch angle.

Almost all the elite guys are over 200 ball speed. Even in the senior division. I will be at the Remax comepeting in the senior division this year...and i need to build my speeds up again. My numbers are probably similar to yours right now, but that's about 80%.

You need to work your way up to 100%...kind of like pitchers in spring training.

If I plan on winning the senior division, I need to get into the 130's SS and at least 195-200 BS. Then tinker with ways of hitting it to get maximum distance out of those numbers.

The years I was at the top I found the best way to train is to go to the range and hit a whole mess of balls as hard as you can with different setups and see what works for you. You might find a funny ball position or ball flight works for you that isn't "correct."

The year I won I aimed way left with the ball really far back in my stance an hit a big block.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

Monte,

You say that you have to get your numbers up a bit. Are there workouts or drills that can help? I feel like I've lost a little bit of swing speed in the last few years.

Thanks,

Go to the range and hit it as hard as you can and learn what it takes to hit it straight doing that.
