I played Atlantic City Country Club last Friday for the first time...it is a great course and it is in amazing condition ! The fairways are immaculate and so are the greens....there are a number of long par 4's...it was an exceptionally windy day, but it was a fun course to play and I'd play it again....we took forecaddies, but to be honest, they weren't that great and they were $ 35 per person...you'll enjoy the course...hope the weather is good for you...enjoy !

ACCC in normally in fantastic shape all the time. It's one of my favorite coastal tracks. I agree, for the most part the fore caddies are useless.

Lots of bunkers, huge greens and some nice ocean views make this a fun place to play. They claim the tern "birdie" was coined there!

About the only thing not to like is the NON air conditioned locker room, but that isn't an issue this time of year!

Don't forget to ring e tee box bell whenever you hit a fairway!

Enjoy!!

Kinda cool having the first teebox on the putting green. Some really good holes, some very average. Rates this time of year should make it worth playing. Summer rates are astronomical.

I must have been there the same day as Cerv2, and yeah, it was really windy. I enjoyed the course immensely, and having played a lot of golf down in AC I'd put it head and shoulders above anything else. I was there for a couple days and also played Seaview Pines and Harbor Pines and wish I'd played them before ACCC since the bar was raised so much. Conditions were top notch and the design was really interesting, fun and tough. I disagree about the boring holes, I think maybe only 1 or 2 didn't do anything for me. It's just that the water holes are so over the top that the others have less of a sensational flavor, but they're really strongly designed golf holes.
I actually just posted my entire review over on my blog if anyone's interested: http://www.metro.us/newyork/sports/article/1011390--course-review-atlantic-city-country-club

I'm definitely looking to go back, especially where the rates are in the fall. Not sure I'd shell out $225, but that's mainly because I'm cheap. However, I'd certainly drive the 2 hours to AC in order to play it for $60, which I think I saw listed for the November in-state rate.

Nice write up. I still haven't played there but really want to. Let me know if you are need somebody in November or later on (a quick playing 15) - I'm about 45 minutes away but grew up like 15 minutes from there.

Live 15 minutes from ACCC, its the bomb diggity! ... I've played Pebble, Hilton Head, Pinehurst 2, 4, 6 and 8, Presidio, Southern Hills; and, ACCC is right there with the best of the bunch! Fortunate to play there two or three times under tournament conditions.

As you may or may not know, ACCC is owned and operated by the Harrah's Casino Conglomerate in Atlantic City (Harrah's, Caesars, etc.). If you are a regular there or a visitor who is a rated player on the tables you have a very good chance of a "comp"limentary round at ACCC from the casino. One other point, Blue Heron Pines is a much better layout and WAS always in better playing condition than cheesy-a** Harbor Pines. Since it changed ownership a few years ago I don't know if it is still as immaculately maintained as it always was under Clark Weld, it's best superintendent ever.

It is not hard to get a comp out of Harrah's to play there......trust me on that. I disagree on Blue Heron as they actually are playing the lesser of the two courses they had....the East was a much better track.
I agree with you about the east course. that was without a doubt one of my favorite courses. super tough, but fun. in my opinion it was head and shoulders above the west course, which is still in operation. Ron Jaworski recently purchased the west course and somebody needs to talk him into getting that east course back in action, lol.

I was at Blue Heron last month for a wedding and it looked to be in great shape. I was salivating to grab my bag and play a few holes during the reception.

I was just told by a person that works at a private course in the area that Atlantic City Country club has been purchased by the same group that owns Scotland Run and Balamar. Anyone have any information on this?

I heard the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Could present a good membership deal if there is reciprocity.

For sure. I live very close to Scotland Run and have considered a membership there but a few things make me shy away. One is the "practice facility" which really does not exist. They make you pay for range balls also which does nothing for me. You do however also belong to Balomar. So if they added in ACCC... and kept it the same price.... be almost impossible to pass up that deal.

I really don't see it happening though.

Will the ownership change affect its availability to the public?

No shot. It will remain a public course.

Depends what you want. For the money I'd prefer Ballamor because you can play it twice for the same price of AC. But if you want your buddy to have the views of AC and the bay, play AC.
