Ezone 380 Shaft Set Ups

What have you used?

Hi all,

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the Yonex Ezone, and am trying to figure out what shaft I want to go with.

I've got a SS in the 110-115 range, and have a very fast transition. I'm looking to lower my spin as much as possible, and am working on bringing the flight down a bit.

I've currently got a J38 with a Motore F1 in 65X, and am somewhat happy with the set up. Not the best feeling shaft ever, but works alright. Would prefer lower spin if possible.

I'm looking at the GD Tour AD DI 6X, and am open to any other suggestions based off others experiences.

I just went to see The Golf Mechanic and he put a new Fuji Motore Speeder Tour Spec VC6.2 in my back up 9 deg. What a combo. Shafts a little firmer in the tip spin rate probably came down a bit a little tighter feeling than what's in my gamer still hitting a Tour Issue F1 2.0 in it..

Not too much help here Spif as I went the other way. Got mine with Kiyoshi to get some spin as that head is a spin killer for sure. Can still launch high bombs that still hit the fairway and have decent roll. Best thing to do is to get fit on a launch monitor. Just got my 380 9* last week with a Fuji Motore F1 R Flex. Have been playing a 909 D3 with a Diamana Whiteboard 73 S flex and I'm amazed how much stouter the F1 R is. Tried it out yesterday and the trajectory is mid-launch, very flat apex, and comes in hot - what's not to like. Gotta try it a bit more in warmer temps - was 42* when I was hitting it for the first time (with range balls). Overall I think it's going to be a good fit for me (SS ~98), hcdp = 4.

Update: I installed a 65x Devotion in mine and love it, I don't know if I'll be able to play another driver after this one!

I put a Matrix Ozik Code 8 in mine. It's been a great combo!

The golf mechanic knows what he is doing...he is like a specialist with yonex. Give him a call or email [email protected] he will hook you up. An honest dude who really knows what he is doing!

Matt gave me a recomendation of using the Motore Tour Spec shaft also. It must be a great, sleeper shaft. I finally found one that I could afford.

I've got the Matrix TP6HD, and love this combo. Never had a setup where I could control hitting the ball high vs. low and left vs. right on command (when swing is on). Really love this driver.

I have a 380 9* head in mint shape. You guys are making me want to keep it. It is a sweet feeling head and looks great on the ground.

I have a UST Mamiya Attas T2 5S 44.5" Still waiting to hit it as the temp. has been staying in the 30's too cold for me

I have a Fujikura Motore speeder 7.2 TS in my 380 and it is a low spin, low launch beast. A really solid feeling combo.

I concur with that recommendation. Had the whole set of Yonex Ezone woods and irons put together by Matt of the Golf Mechanic and can't be happier. Really know what he is doing and a nice guy to deal with.

Yeah I have a funny feeling I am going to be ending up with at least 2 of these set up with different shafts.

I cant see going Ryoma or Roma Ro quite yet?

So i guess you could say the Yonex is a gate way club to harder more expensive JDM gear?

I would love to visit Japan one day and hit them all? Or Singapore?

From what I've experienced so far with my Yonex irons I wouldn't say you'll want more expensive JDM gear; the irons are awesome and I'm waiting on the 3W to show up because of its quality. And this suggestion came from a Muira player--even recommended the Yonex over Royal Collection irons.

Thanks I am pretty happy with my current iron set up. Never been better.

Ordered a S Yard t.388 10.5 stock stiff. Its in sf going through customs last night.

That's a sweet looking driver although too small for my tastes. I've got a VC-420 coming and that will be an adjustment coming from 460cc, but the looks and results are too good to pass up! What shaft are you going with or have you yet to decide?

I am trying to replace a 11 year old 360 cc 9* that got retired 5 years ago.

Going stocker to start then Fubuki a sitting here and probably order the XV with a Fubuki.

Should be fun. I am turning 50 in August. So its now or never.
