Both really good beers, not sure what the extra spices are in the Xmas bomb! thought it was supposed to be cinnamon but was not picking up anything netter than from bomb other than not as much coffee and spice scent.

 

XIX was a really nice blend, a lot less complex from XVIII but sometimes simple is good. It might just be my memory talking but still think I go XVIII>XIX by a hair.

polished off a few old grand dad 114 old fashions and then got in to dogfish burton baton and dogfish Fort, Burton was ok, just like a different DIPA but I enjoyed it, not sure id buy it again. The Fort wazs pretty rad, if youy like strong beer and rasberries then hop on it. 18% and kind of sweet, I'll probably buy a few more to drinknow and age and see how it changes, but at 18% it almost tastes like a rasberry cocktail.

Hipster was brewery only and released in Black Friday. I went to Witchs Hat today for their 4 year anniversary party. They had a really solid tap list and they are really good people over there.

I finally got to Witches Hat last Wednesday and loved it. I did a tier 2 sampler minus the gose and everything was delicious!

Friends coming over in 20 and the beer fest will begin! Beer reviews and possible drunk posts to follow...

Christmas night selections, Pliny- dont need to say anything about it. The Rye Old Rasputin was a bit underwhelming not something I would not seek out again. For the same price I would rather get more 2013 bourbon barrel Old Stock.

I tend to stay away from the DFH experimental stuff too funky for me, 83 on BA from members Im guessing you could spend that $40 and get some better options

I liked it. The coconut is there but not very heavy. If it's a far drive I would say just wait until it gets closer to you. Definitely a good beer but not one I,would make a special trip for.
