pauite is amazing any one of there 3 course. primm valley lakes is another one. So many good/great courses out there. TPC Las Vegas is gorgeous too

There's a Las Vegas Golf & Tennis just off the I-15 and Tropicana. They have a really good Taylormade fitting center. I'm not sure if they have the new equipment in, but if any retailer does, than they will.

What's your budget per round? Plenty of options, but price does make a difference.

Budget I think would be middle of road, no $300-500 rounds don't feel like getting in to it with wife.

Vegas National is a good one... tiger's first win on tour and its decently priced. You can also get a coupon on the site.

I paid 50 for the round, but I'd avoid hitting range balls with the driver. They're kinda old and hard balls and I cracked my driver face on it.

TPC Las Vegas is pretty good value as is Paiute that was already mentioned.

Avoid Bali Hai at all costs. Incredibly mediocre course that would be 1/3 of the price if not for being next to Mandalay Bay.

Completely agree. In fact avoid all the Walters golf courses. Very overpriced. Bears Best is nice too.

I made a similar trip this past spring and played TPC Vegas, Paiute Wolf and Rio Secco. Enjoyed every minute out there. I'm assuming you're renting a car? Each course was a bit of a drive, especially Paiute. I would not want to guess what the cab fare would have been, but it would have been STEEP.

Callaway has a big store/driving range/pitch and putt course between the airport and the beginning of the strip. Never made the time to get there.

If you're renting a course consider Coyote Springs. It's a beautiful course about 45 mins north of Vegas. I think you can play all day for $80 or so. It's a beautiful Nicklaus course.

been there 4 times. amazing golf course!! price is about half of those in Vegas and it is way better.

Wolf Creek in Mesquite is the absolute best. about 1 hour from Vegas. forget those 4 and 5 hundo courses in Vegas.

hi all, would also like to jump on this thread as i am looking to play 3 courses in november.. a bunch of us from england are heading over for a weeks holiday ( 3 rounds i think). anyway could you please include approx costs and the best time of day to play,..weather,heat.. etc.. i think that wolfs creek looks stunning and appears to be a must...looking for reasonable prices and travelling from ceasars palace... what is the best way to book tee times on these courses,. would it be direct to the course through the hotel or a golf breaks company.. all info will be a big help thanks.

yep paiute is a wonder to play. incredibly enjoyable, and cheap beer. perfect mixture for vegas

Have been out a few times and played, Wolf Creek, Pauite, Coyote Springs, and Angel Park.

I played Wolf my first trip and every time I go back I regret not playing it again. It is unreal.

If you are up that way check out Conestoga(sp?). Around Mesquite and supposed to be pretty nice.

For value you can't go wrong with Pauite. Three Dye courses in one location, the middle of nowhere, and it is great!

Yay! Vegas thread!!!

I spent last summer working in Vegas... and as a happily single and gainfully employed not-so-young man who enjoys the tables... I spend lots of time there when I'm not working.

My impressions of the courses I played (that gave me strong impressions):

Paiute: Overall: Awesome service. Great bar and restaurant (awesome viiew!!). Everyone you encounter from bag drop to bag pick-up is super friendly and the vibe is completely unpretentious (please remember to tip!). Also, during the summer, Paiute is about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than it is down in the Valley.

Wolf course is spectacular!. The kind of course where you get that sad feeling checking up on your score around the 15th hole... not because you're already 12 over your handicap, but you just realized you're going to be leaving soon. In all seriousness... the Wolf Course is the reason I find myself looking for cheap last minute airfares when I know I'm going to have a slow Friday at work. It's awesome.

Sun course is very nice... and definitely holds it's own with the best courses in Vegas. Much easier than Wolf... kind of the "resort" version of the Wolf Course.

Snow course is "interesting". I found it to be Dye design at it's worst. "No driver for you! Landing area on this par 4 is from 190-240 yards. Why? Because I'm Pete f---ing DYE!!!" Enjoyed it, but definitely rank it 3rd... distant third. Like... John Anderson or Ross Perot kinda third.

LV National. My apologies to the recommender above... but this place is a dog track (relative to other Vegas courses). Runs through a lower middle class (read: "kinda ghetto") neighborhood. And course conditions are about what you find at a $20 muni course. Also... it's close to the Strip and on the cheaper side... so it gets CROWDED with visitors out with their rental clubs. Sloooooooow.

Bali Hai: They could have at least kissed me first. Stay away!

Desert Willow - Cheap executive course with some of the best conditions I've ever seen on such a short course. Great place for your first round after you fly in.

Primm Valley - Both courses are great. Well kept, thought provoking and challenging... and a great high end service facility with a fun and laid back atmosphere. It's a hike, but it makes for a great place to stop and rest for 5 hours or so on the drive back to the coast.

Shadow Creek: I bet you think I would have learned after the Bali Hai experience huh? Shadow creek was "neat". They're so proud of creating a "Pines" style course in the desert. If I just got on a plane in a place that HAS lots of "Pines" courses to fly to Vegas... why would I care? It was a top notch experience. Staff were pretty snooty (if that's your thing, you might like it) but really, everything about the place is great. It was a thoroughly enjoyable golf and service experience. Fun course, excellent conditions. However... it's not worth ANYWHERE NEAR what they get for tee-times... even with the hotel package. Let's see... buy a nice used 1998 Camry or golf at Bali Hai and Shadow Creek? Hmmm...

Anthem Revere Concord Course (didn't play the other course): HIGHLY recommend. A+ service, really interesting course, great conditions. Loved it.

And for those that haven't played there... golfing in Las Vegas is like doing anything else in Las Vegas. It's overpriced... but if you're willing to pay (and tip everybody that puts out an effort for you) you can have a great time and will get the best service imaginable. My clubs were never so clean!

Hmmm... I wonder if I can cut out early Friday.

Bear's Best is a very nice course. It has replica holes of Jack Nicklaus' greatest golf holes.

Aside from that, it's just an interesting and well-conditioned course.
