What driver was Vijay using

Tour Championship, was it a hibore?

I was watching the tour championship today and I thought I saw Vijay playing the hibore. Does anyone know if he was for sure?

The head was a HiBore XL, I believe, especially since he definitely had the Hibore XL headcover. I can't tell the shaft based on Getty pics, but it is black like a TP-7.

Whatever it was he was hitting it long. Anyway I got a good look at it and I know it was a Hibore, i just don't know which one.

So whats the difference between the orignal hibore and the hibore xl?

original HIBore is only 400 something cc, not 460, and the HiBore XL is 460 cc. Just a matter of size if I am not mistaken.

The hibore xl is only 430cc and the old hibore was 340cc's.

Per my contact w/ Cleveland , Vijay was using the Hibore XL tour (the one w/ longer hosel for face angle adjustment- previously discussed in another thread) w/ Diamana whiteboard. Also, CG is definitely different in newer versions of Hibore allowing for a lot more workability- having seen and hit the new head, I feel that alot of problems w/ the original have been corrected and quite possibly this club could make a major comeback.

umm......i hope you guys are joking about the size......but isnt the HiBore originally 460cc and that is with the compacted rear .......it was my understanding that if the orginal HiBore had a normal sized body that it would be over 500cc

I was more under the impression that during size testing the scallop in the back of the Hi-Bore was filled with putty until it resembled the uniform driver shape, and then measured for size from that stage.

The concave back end brings the CC waaaaaaaaay down. It's my understanding that the original hibore, had it been shaped traditionally, would of been 460CC.

When cleveland introduced the HiBore...they introduced it as a driver with a 520cc chassis

The Diamana WhiteBoard is a High Launch, low spin shaft.. sort of like the Ozik Altus. And the original hibore is right around 400 CC and the new one is a little bit bigger around 430 if i remeber right.

I thought that the blueboard was the low launch/low spin shaft? I was also under the impression that the whiteboard is high launch/low spin.

the HiBore XL has a higher CG than the previous HiBore. the XL will spin more and launch differently. the XL allows for teeing the ball higher and hitting it higher on the face. the XL sorta gets away from the intent of the original HiBore.

HiBore 1 was not even close to 460cc, just looked big.
