I think people used to buy them for 75.00 a piece or that may be the posters, not sure. I don't have either, other than the group pictures from the ICC.

Do you not find it odd there are never any putters showing the process?

Is it true that Titleist and SC dropped their lawsuit against Bettinardi because Bob had records of SC wanting all the evidence destroyed on the TW putter?

And if so, what does that say about SC and his character?



There is no arguing he makes a great putter, but so do a bunch of others. He is a great marketer, and I think the weights are fantastic and something he alone will be remembered for.

Since I don't now his ethical parameters or lack thereof, I will take your points. I don't know the guy or have factual information to say that he lacks ethical values. I have met him in person and he is just indifferent.

Where is the Scotty process to create the putter? Where are the proto's? Why the BS spin to sell it?

Just show me one piece of evidence that he actually designed the putter from scratch.

Its not just a putter. Golf is a multi- billion dollar business. and putters are a large part of it..

Plenty of people looked the other way while those companies were making $, only to act shocked and outraged when the deck of cards fell.

Great article, great read. Lots of good current information...too bad there are 3 pages of old history that STILL no one seems to have anything concrete to show against someone's ethics...let it be...move on. With media the way it is today, either someone won't produce solid evidence or that someone is willing to let it just sit there in a dust covered box...at least they moved on with their life, but if someone came forward it would be all over TGC or TMZ(OMG!) in a heart beat!


ps..bought my scotty at the time, cuz it just performed better than anything else I was trying...that was 2004 and it may now be out of the bag..served it's purpose..

Is anyone else confused?.... you compared 2 companies that screwed "clients" out of millions of dollars to a putter artist that out sells his "competition" with marketing.... that's business.................. if there is such an issue with other artist, why don't they do something about it instead of running around, sounding like they make up stories?

Maybe you should have a look at a Scotty Cameron 2002 studio design 2.5 putter
and see where the inspiration for the sonoma came from. Of course the Sonoma name first appeared in the Classic line in 1996

I always thought the end of the Bettinardi milling contract with Titleist would have some interesting story behind it. I would guess there is a confidentially clause that keeps the details lock up pretty tight
