What Putters are you planning on buying in the next 6 Months

Hey Guys....

 

I was sitting here tonight thinking on what putters I was planning on purchasing in the next 1/2 year or so. Needless to say the list was a couple pages. LOL #1 though on my list is a 3x OC 009 w/ a Welded Santa Fe neck. Just curious to see which models yall are thinking of.

Dont tell Jay but I am looking at picking up a circa 62 since prices are falling pretty quickly. Never had a scotty and I am a pretty dedicated Mills fan but at 150 ish I would like to try one.

 

I am this close to buying a handmade mills but since I just got one of the new beadblasted ss soft tails, I have put it off for a while

Wel since i just received my Circa #2 back from getting re finished in PP i would say nothing. But i will have my eye on a Guerin Rife Antiqua as a option.

At this point...none.... ;) I am VERY satisfied with my Byron 006 proto and my Slighter waits patiently in the wings.....If I can ever get down to Fresno I'm seriously considering going through the Dave Edel putter fitting and getting one of his putters made.....Along the Mills front, I would love to see the "Boxwood" come to production....I've only seen one but I loved it....

I like those, Just waiting to see if the price settles, or lowers or raises. Seen them fluxuating between 450 and 675. Wish I had picked that one up 450 but got the IBBF instead.

I own a few Camerons like a Copper Newport, IBDD, A00460 and a Bettinardi BB1 Black Pearl 3 slot DASS. I have always loved both but the BB1 is my gamer as of now. I am looking to get a Bettinardi BB5 and a Cameron Tour Circa III.

Nothing special but I just bought a 33" Futura Phantom 2. One of my best long term gamers has been the Red X2 33/350 so I really wanted to try one of these.

 

BTW does anyone know what the headweight is of this putter. It did come 33" from Scotty. From what I can tell the weight doesn't change with the Phantoms??? ;)

It should still be like the rest. 33 would be 350 if I remember correctly as Ssstandard for the Phantom 2 was 35 inch 330 Gram. I have never seen one that wasn't.

It is a great topic, but I have to say that my putter ho'ing is on hold until I clear out some of what has made its way into my hands, over the past 2 years.

I would love to say a plumbers neck Tradition, a David Duval Cammie, and very interested in seeing Heritage's new line. A new Byron Morgan handmade is a possibility, if the herd is sufficiently thinned, or maybe a one-off Slighter.

Sooooo many good putter makers out there, right now. It is tuff to decide.

Look for my Mizuno M-200 to pop up on WRX BST soon. Need to get better pics. It is fresh from the Studio and will make someone very happy. I would post it on TCC, but the atmosphere just isn't something I am comfortable with, and I don't have enough posts or time on their site to post a BST ad. Not a problem, WRX'ers are a pretty good bunch of guys.

That's a sweet looking one there LaMont ;):) If you hold off about 2 more weeks, I'd list it on ebay. They fetch a pretty good premium on there closer to christmas especialy with yours being a PP finish. I was just sitting here tonight and it really made me think what do I really want. I am thinking of justsaving up more and buying a really nice, 2000-3000 dollar putter rather than alot of 200-300 dollar ones. God only knows with me. LOL You are right though. It really does make you sit back and think. :crazy::):D

Its a rounded off version of the Fleetwood...sorta like a JAT or a Studio #5, or my Slighter.....

I bought it off of fleabay. The putter does have the original 33" shaft sticker on it as well as the original scotty grip so I'm 99 percent sure Scotty did it custom order. Anyways the seller said that it is a 350 gram head but I have no idea because it doesn't list it anywhere. Plus on Scottys website they don't list the headweight on the 34" as 340 so I assume it would be the same as the 35". In fact they don't list the headweight for the 35" either.

Standard for Camerons is:

33/350

34/340

35/330

 

The Phantom Mallet2 goes by the same standard as the Red X and Red X2 which follow those Specs as well. That's a pretty nice putter and even better being a 350 gram head. Congrats ;):):crazy:
