Razr Hawk Tour....

Overlooked and Underrated???
FT-Tour or Razr Fit? These are the questions I see here on GOLFWRX.....RHT gets lost in the conversation....I think it a great driver balanced between forgiving, playable and nice looking....

Similar to the TM Tour Burner TP of 2008.....The 2007 Burner was widely revered.....the R9 came along and so did the Superfast line....but for me the TBTP just had it all....and I fell for the hype.....

After hitting the RHT, I realize it could be de ja vu' ....But not gonna get me this time!!!! RIP 60 Made for or not fits my swing and the head is consistent and pleasing....

Am I just fooling myself or on to something?

BTW, My boy Swingie came to a similar revelation with Rapture V2 ;)

I think the RHT gets lost a bit because it was basically an FT tour with composite materials. Still a fusion club, just with the first Razr moniker. I really never saw a discernable difference between the FT tour and the RHT enough to warrant getting one so I kept my FT tour's. Plus if you noticed most of the tour pros kept the FT tour/TA FT-9 in their bags even after the RHT was released. I think in part because of the similarities and not being much of a helpful difference. So the RHT is basically lumped in with the FT Tour IMO, almost same club. I just bought a FIT and a week later my favorite FT tour popped on the range so I am kind of stuck loving my Fit now. I really like that I dont have to have 4 FT tour's with different shafts and lengths now though which is what I used to do. I have 3 shafts currently and one head which is how it should be. Thats the real sticking point for me with the FIT not to mention that the head does feel great.

I think if shafts and tips were made more available,I too could have the FIT.....right now stock rip'd NV just doesn't cut it.....but you make very valid points....I've read were some think the RHT is significantly more forgiving the FT-Tour.....????

I'm currently considering both of these drivers and would be interested in the forgiveness differences as well.

IMO, the RHT was more forgiving than the FT-Tour, and the Fit, more forgiving than the RHT. This however, is splitting hairs, they are all great heads. It's not like we're comparing the RHT to a something like a 975D in terms of forgiveness. I've hit some of the longest drives of my life with the RHT, but overall, the Fit has been straighter and actually sets up better to my eye. I still like the impact feel of the RHT and FT though - muted, solid, and what some might call "dead". The Fit just feels like a normal titanium driver to me. The RHT can be had for cheap(er) now too, and the FT-Tour even cheaper than that in most cases.

Also, on the Made For Callaway RIP 60 that is stock for the RHT, don't sleep on it. Some people thought it already was pretty good in the RHT, and I actually have one installed in a Razr Fit sleeve and the ball speeds I got with it were in line with and in some cases higher than with other current, more exotic shafts like the DI, Fubuki, etc. Spin was about 400 rpms higher, but I can live with that. I cranked the Fit open to reduce the loft and this made for, 60 gram shaft is really surprising me, in a good way.

Callaway just dropped the prices HUGE on the RHT's
Golf Town has them on sale for $198 right NOW

i snagged up their last 9.5º stiff today and tried it out
really liked it and the RIP 60 was pleasantly nice
smooth feel, good launch and lower spin

just got an Adams Fast 12 LS as well, and the RHT will stay in the bag
for me when nutted side by side, the RHT is longer
misses w the RHT are longer

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the FT Tour, but it was SO anti left, I couldnt keep it in the fwy very easily (my stock shot is a baby cut and it turned it into a nasty slice)
the RHT is a more forgiving FT IMO and not so fade biased

im only one round in, but so far so good

ive been struggling to find a driver i really like this yr and hope this is it

REALLY hope this is it :russian_roulette:

I'm not surprised there, haha. Enjoy it. Even though I have a Razr Fit, I'm keeping a RHT around for a while.

I've bagged both the FT9-TA, RHT, & currently bag a RHT Proto. My average drive distance noticeably increased when I started using the TA. What is even more impressive is my FW Hit improved dramatically as well I play a cut and the head suits me. I went thru 2 heads in a year before deciding to try and find a more dependable alternative. I almost went back to a J33 when Cally couldn't replace the TA. I chose a RHT over the FTT just for the dependability. It is different, albeit somewhat subtle. While I was waiting on the shaft for the J33 the RHT arrived from Cally, I went out and hit a few with the RHT and was really pleased. I had a guy who wanted it more than me so I sold it and used the J33 until I found a RHTP. It is by far my favorite driver head of all time. I know it's gonna pop one day but until then I'm enjoying my best driving ever in over 30 years of golf. The RHT is a very solid head and worthy of almost anyone's consideration.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.
