Putting stoke, grip and more...

Aaron Baddeley is pure. We watched him pour putts in the hole today at the Memorial. Drops one ball on the green, stands behind it for the line, addresses the ball, one look at the hole and then stokes it. No practice stoke. Putts were pouring in.

Natural feel putter.

....... Im kinda speechless, I dont really know what to see about that putter, its so horrifically ugly, that it has to be good.

But I do like his blades

That is an unusual looking putter but I am sure he really thinks it works. Although i am pretty sure he could putt with a ladle tied to crooked bamboo and make his fair share and then some. Thanks for the pics and the description of Badds on the greens!

wowza! A face barely wider than the dots on a two ball! If you miss hit it I imagine it would have a massive resistance to twisting (moi). Also looks like the shaft balance is past centre so should have heel hang, rather than face balance? Did Bads have an issue with toe struck pushes? This thing would cure them in an instant...!

looks like tons of help getting your eyes over the ball too, and the white dot at the back looks like it would enable you to ensure the blade is square to your stance/ shoulders... Very innovative but looks like it may suit a very specific style of putter... One who stands square and over the ball.

i want to believe that this putter(i don't know if i can call that thing a putter), is a training aid to improve your putting stroke, like the ball putter with the dots, the ones you should hit exactly in the dot or you would miss by a LOT. That thing took the spaceship look to a whole new level, but if he can make putts with THAT, who can complain about it?

Reminds me of the old Zen Oracle putting trainer. Personally not a fan of the putter design as I really like his Scotty, but if he sinks putts...who am I to judge.

It's kind of funny how people look at things differently. I actually like his putter & owned a Yar putter for a short time. It's a very nice feeling putter but mine was the regular version and the head was too small. He games the wide body version which is probably much better. Tons of technology behind this putter.

Too many people are suckered in by name brands. Just because a putter says Scotty Cameron or whatever on it does not make it beautiful or even well designed.

I think you should research the science behind a putter before bashing it. I like the fact he uses something that not everyone is using. That shows me he is not a sheep. I like him better for having the 'nads to use something like this.

Just my 2 cents....

You got a point and all here get it but this has nothing to do with his Scotty Cameron, it's because that putter looks like an ashtray,if you see it from the top, i also use a Yes! putter(Tracy II) so by no means i will argue with you about the technology behind a putter but a little of make up in a putter won't kill right? We won't know for sure if he would play that putter until tomorrow, maybe it's just a putter aid, maybe is his new gamer, who knows.

This is not related to be a "sheep" like you said, everyone plays what makes them feel comfortable and helps their game. Acording to your Sheep statement, everyone that plays a white driver, an anser style putter or a belly would be a sheep because these are trends or popular models, you can like it or not, thats a personal thing and at the end you will play what fit's your game, but if you know that something would help you, and knowing that, ignored it and use something that won't fits you, then you're a sheep or a damn moron.

Guess he doesn't need to brass weight plugs on those irons. what are the odds on adams coming out with an mb3 that looks similar to this? would follow the pattern of the upcoming CMBs to CCs.

It's amazing to me how a professional can begin using something so untraditional and probably have very little time getting used to whatever it is. This goes beyond picking up a white driver for the first time. He must have simply said "I'll try that"...like it was no big deal. Good for him.

Actually these are just tour issue MB2's with one of the optional tour finishes. His irons do have the brass weight plugs, they are just covered up a bit by the finish. If you look carefully you can see the plugs in some of the pics. In fact, his irons have 7 brass plugs (the retail version has 5 brass plugs). MB2's rule.

Is that putter painted with a rattle can of "fleckstone". Awful looking thing. I could never get comfortable looking down at it, even if I was making them. But I like Badds, so whatever. Is he the only Adams staffer playing MB2 blades?

As they said, even the tour issue have the plugs, they're just covered a bit. Here's a photo of mine.

I will say though, doesn't his long iron look like the muscleback is huge, like it's a custom grind for more sole weight? (see second photo)

Ryan Moore has been playing them at times this year as well, however, Ryan seems to switch irons every week.

What is the putter grip he is using on this putter? I have been trying to find a grip with a heavy cord like this.

Anyone have any updates on his setup? I don't think he changes very often, I believe he played most fo the year with an F11 driver and fairway wood.

Thankfully he's not using that putter anymore. He has a more traditional Yes putter in the bag.
