Princeville with pictures

Very Hard Course wind the wind is blowing. Lot of forced carries. Great views from several holes.

The photos with the ball it hole 10 I think. The first one is my drive. I miss hit the ball and its a good thing as you can see in the photo. The 2nd photo with a ball is were the 2nd shot ended up. I had 210 to the flag so went with 3 hybrid because I was 200 carry to the front of the green. I got up and down. One of only a couple holes I played well on the way to shotting 110.

I liked Poipu Bay more Because It was right on the Ocean and plus it was an easier course. Easy ='s more fun. Plus Poipu has the PGA history behind it.

Pure745 and I just played there yesterday, too. What time did you tee off? Tai's a monster... he shot a 74 (I shot a non golfwrx appropriate 89...with rentals, though!). I love that course-- it was absolutely stunning. I also played Kauai Lagoons and thought it was a fun track that was open to scoring (the back 9 was a bit annoying, though... the greens played entirely different than the front 9-- very fast and very firm).

I played the Makai course, and if you can afford, I would recommend 100 times over. I absolutely loved it. I also loved everything else about Kauai though, so my opinion might not mean much. If you get a chance, check out Paradise Cafe and the macadamian nut milkshake at the sno-cone stand next to the grocery store in Hanalei. Delicious!

Went to Kauai about 3 years ago. I stayed at the Grand Hyatt. Best hotel experience I've enjoyed. Purchased the Kauai Golf Challenge on a website that somebody referred me to. I played Poipu Bay (located next to the Grand Hyatt), Kauai Lagoons, and the Prince Course at Princeville fro $275.

I enjoyed all 3 courses. Prince is the most challenging and Poipu the easier of the three.

I also remember:

1) hitting a driver on a Par 3 on the back 9 in Princeville due to strongest headwind I have ever encountered.

2) a beautiful Par 3 at Kauai Lagoons that requires you to hit over an ocean cove. BTW - Kauai Lagoons has two courses. I was advised to not play the one near the airport.

3) the awesome views on the finishing holes at Poipu.

Kauai is a great place to stay and a great place for golf.

You can't go wrong with the "big name" courses like Prince, Makai, Kauai Lagoons and Poipu Bay. All are highly rated and deserve the accolades. But don't forget Puakea Golf Course. It's a local gem near the Kauai Marriott. Fun course, amazing views.

The Prince was still being renovated when I was there last year, but Makai and Poipu were equally magnificent!

Even if Tai gave me 20 strokes, I wouldn't play him for money... that would be too much pressure! Haha.

I'm trying to find a way to go back to the islands permanently... find a job teaching English and pay Kama'aina rates for sweet golf courses.
