I have been playing the new Bridgestone B330s and I was wondering what everybody plays and why you choose the ball you do .......



I am really curious to know this please since there is so many golfers here...Thanks

Currently Callaway HX Tour 56..

 

 

Amazingly soft ball. and Unbelieveable amount of spin into the greens.

Nike TA2LNGs.. They are cheap at the minute and suit me to boot.

 

Soft enough to be workable around the greens and fit my game as they give me a good flight off the drivers and irons and don't tend to balloon as other balls do. (I am a high spin player naturally with a medium ball flight)

Similar Here ... Titleist DT Solo's inexpensive soft feel balls... doesnt matter too much because I am not good enough to be spending ProV1 $$$

Last time I was on a launch monitor, it was determined that the Callaway HX Tour is the ideal ball for my game, so I play those some of the time.

 

However, I get Srixon Z-UR golf balls free through my college, so I am planning on playing those for the collegiate season.

Recently switched to the Callaway HX Tour 56 from ProV1s. Comparable distance, softer feel and good control around the green.

I use the low compression 2-piece variety as I'm a low ball hitter and am still building a decent swing. I'm looking for a ball that flies high for good distance that spins into greens and has decent shortgame spin.

 

Favourites are: - Big Bertha Blue

- NXT Tour

- Lady/Laddie

 

Looking to test the Srixon AD-333, Nike Mojo, Noodle Rotini. Anyone have opinions on these balls?

I either use the Pro V1 and the X, HX Tour and the 56 aswell, Nike One Platinum. I usually choose just before I go out to play my round depending on the weather and what the greens are like etc.

Playing HX Tour 56 from the Pro V1. Love the ball. Have heard good things about the B330s as well.

I play several different ones:

 

Precept U-Tri Tour, Maxfli M3 Tour, Titleist ProV1X, Bridgestone B330, Callaway HX Tour, and others I demo on an occasional basis.

 

Lately - my favorites are the B330, and Maxfli M3 Tour.

I'm currently waffling between the Cally HX 56 and the Nike Platinum. I like the feel of the HX, but the Platinum seems to be a little longer. They seem to be pretty comparable around the greens.

Gone back and forth between the Pro-V1 and the X, but have decided to play the V1 full time. It spins a bit more and comes in handy as opposed to the few extra yards from the X we all get.

ProV1X for good I think. I love the HX Tour because it gives me a few more yards, but it doesn't spin at ALL around the greens. The X is the perfect ball. Plenty of distance off the tee with ample spin around the greens.

I still play the HX red...I still haven't played a better ball. I tried the HX Tour and the Tour 56 and had 'mixed' :cheesy: results...

 

I've been toying with the idea of selling out and playing ProV's though...I'm a follower not a leader :clapping:

I like to carry everything to the flag, even on chips/short pitches so spin is a big part of my game. It costs me a little length off the tee but I save a lot of shots around the greens anyway......Tourstage X01 and X01s

I usually play the ProV1X, I like the distance and control it offers me. If I am playing really firm conditions like out west, I will switch to ProV1 to allow for the harder greens.

 

When i play with my Callaway clubs, I use the HX 56, great ball, as close to a ProV as any taht I have used.

Pro V1x...The regular ProV's spin too much for me when they land on the green, and also, I dont know if its just me, but I feel as though the X's give me a little lower ball flight, resulting in more penetrating flight and better performance in the wind...

 

 

Prov1x, for less spin off the big stick, feels firmer off Scotty. The B330 and B330s aren't as durable, feel good but don't last off the wedge.

Still playing the 04 V1x because they fit my game and I stocked up when the prices dropped last year before the release of the 05 version.

i only use a pro v1 it gives me good distance but also gives me good spin on approach shots and gets good bite around the green. It also feels great of the putter face.

I was actually wondering whether anyone tried the dimplit golf balls. I never heard of them until I read about them in the latest issue of golf illustrated.

I play either Maxfli Black Max or Callaway Tour 56. Both are durable and best suited for my game.

I play ProV 1 X-Outs most of the time. I tried the Maxfli Rev Tours and they play inbetween the Prov1 and 1x. Greenside spin is similar to the 1. Putts like the X. On full shots (tee and fairway) it's kind of inbetween on the feel- not quite as soft as the 1 and not quite at clicky/firm as the X. $15 a box at Golfsmith, pretty good deal versus $25 a box for X-Outs.

 

Distance is longer than the 1.

Pretty much tried everything this year.............. old ProV1, old ProV1x, ONE platinum, BlackMax, new ProV1, B330s and my current ball the 2005 ProV1X

 

My swingspeed isn't the highest(100-105) but the new X is easier for me compress and longer than all others mentioned above. Around the greens the One platinum is far and away the best but shorter for me by 10yds. the NEW ProV1 is probably a better fit in that launches higher for more carry but still pales in overall distance.

 

The BlackMax is the second best overall ball but again shorter than the new X.

 

The new X spins, has drop and stop spin into the greens and feels great. also unaffected by the wind

 

FWIW: Titleist added urethane to it's elastomer cover for a little firmer feel in the new ProV1 and a larger,softer core to the new X for easier compression :clapping:

I'm playing the U-Tri Tour, because IMHO they are the best "bang for the buck" out there right now.

I play with either the NXT or Black Max. I think I like the Black Max better. It is also softer. The NXT is good for the price.

I've been playing Hogan Tour Deep for the past few months. A buddy and I have gone in on a couple cases, and I really like them. Long off the driver, and great spin around the greens. The first time I played 'em I spun the ball back on five different holes...and I had hardly ever been able to do that. However, they aren't the most durable ball, one strike w/ a wedge, and you can sure see the scuff.

 

I also like Pro V1x, HX Tours, and HX Reds.
