Your proshop is correct. The NXT has been discontinued and replaced by the Velocity. There are now two versions of the NXT Tour ball. Any NXT's still to be found are the end stock of last years model.

Tour Distance replaced by Velocity, not NXT...NXT is still around, along with the S as referred to by Moonshine

Titleist sent me a two sleeve sample of both the NXT Tour & the NXT Tour S (one was yellow).

I have now played both balls, and find that I like the performance of the NXT Tour S the best. I have a slower swing speed (87 mph average) so the softer ball performs better.

I did get good performance from the NXT Tour as well, just not better than the S.

My current ball is the Callaway Diablo Tour, of which I have three sleeves left. When they are gone, I will probably go for the NXT Tour S. (I am a 16 Handicap).

The active Titleist ball products are the ProV1, ProV1x, NXT Tour, NXT Tour S, Velocity, and DT Solo. As I previously stated any NXT's still around are not current. I work at a golf course and we haven't had "regular" NXT's all summer. A quick look at the Titleist web site should confirm this.

Agreed. The NXT was replaced by the Velocity (same pricepoint). NOS of the NXT can still be found, but it is no longer in production. The Tour Distance was not part of Titleist's main lineup (same with the Tour Prestige and HP3).

The Velocity has higher overall compression than the NXT but share the same dimple design and overall construction/dimensions.

Wrong and wrong. Velocity replaced NXT. Tour Distance was simply discontinued. NXT S is a new entry. NXT is dead, except for last year's models, wherever it can still be found.

This is my favorite type post. The OP asks about the NXT ands someone has to post something off topic that he thinks adds to the conversation. You can find these on almost every posting.

Callaway Great Big Bertha 3 wood and Heavenwood
Callaway XR 4 Hybrid and 5 Hybrid

+ One.

It's amazing to me how many people will post information and not know what they are talking about.

The NXT is no longer being produced, but it still can be found for sale. The NXT, which the Velocity replaced, is not the same as the NXT Tour. They are two different balls. The NXT Tour S is a new model, which also should not be confused with the NXT or the NXT Tour.
