Here's a vid of me at the dome. I know it's hard to tell I used to be a pro but golf is hard at times...

I've seen worse.

You guys weren't kidding about that dome thing. Wow. FYI: It was 79 and sunny down here in Nashville today....
I posted this video as a gag in a thread and I got a ton of responses on what i should do to fix a shank. the funny thing was they were all related to what a person should do to stop moving into the ball or that I was too close to it or what ever.... even though every shot was dead off the tip of the toe!

Sometimes we get bored in winter and just see what we can come up with. It's actually pretty hard to hit the last shot in the video... I almost bagged myself!

Well winter's already here in Calgary. Supposed to be highs of -4 all week with lots of snow.

A guy we've seen at the dome about a 25 handicap has the single worst golf swing of anyone I've ever seen

been telling everyone he's a 1 handicap. 0.
The guy sitting with us asked him how his year was and he replied:" pretty good. Shot back to back 65,67 and finished the year at a 0.7."

So Thrillhouse and I never said anything because quite frankly, what can you say? My feeling is it's better not to call anyone out on something like this because then there's just awkward tension all winter at the dome.

There's times I see this guy and I want to go help him or give him a drill or something to improve but I just mind my own business.

The trouble was that my 14 year old son was there and struggling with the idea that an adult would tell an out right lie and expect people to act like it was the truth.

I'm going to see this guy 60 or 70 times this winter. Like I said, part of me wants to give him a hand but a bigger part of me wants to steer as far clear as possible....
Tell that guy you know a forum where he'd fit right in. Like Captain Pike in the original Star Trek series ("Captain Pike has an illusion, and you have reality. May you find your way as pleasant." ) he'll relish his simulated skills and be too busy posting advice to practice much.

Though you weren't seeking advice on how to raise your son, golfers have a special responsibility to immunize their offspring against the bizarre and fanatical; fortunately, this site provides an opportunity to view a complete spectrum of delusion.Since he's only 14, start him off in the GOLF STYLES & ACCESSORIES forum where only the mildest delusions linger. Save INSTRUCTION & ACADEMY for last; by the time he starts reading it your driving range acquaintance will no doubt have a significant following.

One site solves all your problems; looks like everything's coming up golfwrx.

Guys, I think Joe85 may be right. You see the guy in question from the OP was reporting his scores and handicap in American. If he had converted to the Canuckistan ruble you'd see his numbers more in line with reality due to the massive Canadian inflation rates.

BTW the USD to CAD exchange rate right now is actually trading in Canada's favor... 1 USD = .99 CAD.

It still doesn't change the fact it's much more expensive to live there.

The bigger question here is how the heck does a can of chew cost 22 bucks?
This is what i was wondering.
34 gram container of skoal costs $22.09 at the local 7-11. Welcome to Canada guys!

I literally paid $2.06 for the same thing today. man that is brutal! I would quit instantly, and couldn't afford that at all.

Thrill - I really can't believe that I have to explain this to you. You - the man of many memorable comments on this site - haven't yet figured out who Joe85 really is.....

I'll 'splain it to you....

Joe85 is actually the guy that you and Issac see at the driving dome range...hitting terrible shots and lying about his golfing ability.

The reason he throws out ridiculous stuff about your country is nothing more than a clever ploy to disguise who he really is. By insulting your country he is masking his true Canadian identity and has everyone convinced that he is an American from "Keller Golf Course" (or whatever is on his Avatar.)

I'm actually a little ashamed that I let the joke go on this long before I unleashed the awesomeness of my powers of deductive reasoning to reveal his true identity.

Hope you finally "get" why Joe85 is still here....Not only is he "not" going anywhere....he's going to be at your local dome all-winter-long.

You and Isaac are welcome.

The funniest part of that video, other that the shots, is when you show the face of the club, at the end. Beginner shots, then we see a dime sized hole burned into the center of the clubface. Well done isaacbm

^^^^^^^ :WTF:
You're from MN, have you ever crossed the border?
Yes, though not for a long visit. Our neighbors to the north do things a little differently, yes. I think your post seems a little overly exuberant and unnecessarily aggressive though. These are our neighbors and closest of allies. It seems you are painting an ugly color with a very broad brush here over a personal disagreement. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Broad brush? I love Canada more than the next dude. I know just about the country and how they are hurtin' and I am aware of the fact that they are our closest allies. We have the history of humanity in our history no doubt.
We're "hurtin?"

I can't wait to hear the explanation for this.
Exactly my thoughts.

Last time I checked during the 2008 subprime debacle, our "inferior" nation weather through the economic storm faster than any other G8 nations. Plus, without the dirty oil from Alberta, I wonder how Americans are going to react to increased gas prices.

Joe is currently busy moving to Mexico. They are far less socialist, and thus a much stronger country.
