6'6" here, with right around 38" wrist-to-floor. Play irons and wedges +1" and 3* upright, but keep my hands pretty low and close to my knees at address, especially with wedges and short irons. Also 19* hybrid at 60.5* lie and 40.75" (2* up and +0.5" from stock) and 3W at 43" even but 59.5* lie (and 2.5* open).

Wow, 6'4" and 4 degrees flat, you must also keep your hands very low or they started very upright. What is your wrist to ground?

Is 38" the new 5-Iron standard? I've always used 37.75". My 5 iron is dead on 38 though.
I'm actually thinking of going even flatter. Flat lie angles are what I want for my swing.

Waiting on a set of KBS Tour Stiff so I can go +1" on my irons and try that. I'd like to take the left side out of play again.

6'2" here...

Titleist irons are +1/4" over length, and 2 degrees upright from standard.

Vokey wedges are still +1/4" over length, but 1 degree upright from standard.

910 woods are: Driver = standard length, and -.75 degrees flat; 3-wood = -1/4" short, and -.75 flat; Hybrid = -1/2" short, and .75 degrees upright.

Putter is 35" and 71 degrees (standard).

Just changed my specs, almost identical to yours - abit I'm std lies with the woods , ended 2* with the titleist, even with the added length I felt like I was really bent over at address

Anyone that is above 6.2, feel like either you have to play with short flat clubs or longer more upright sticks?

Maybe an elementary question; does a higher lie angle make it more difficult to flight / work the ball?

I'm a touch under 6'2" and was fitted for +0.5" long and 2* upright. I may flatten out my scoring irons though because I was going left with them for my last few rounds out.
I am 6'3" but more like 6'5" in my TW13's. I recently switched from +1" to +0.5" 2*Up with my shafts hard stepped to maintain the proper ball flight after the extensions, and I'm thinking the same thing about flattening the my scoring irons back to standard lie. I've been left with them as well and the upright lie 8-PW just looks way too open for me to get comfortable.

This topic just made my day! Tough to figure out specs for us tall fellas!

I recently made a drastic swing change to keep myself on-plane - I have been noticing my spine angle changes a good bit on my short irons(I record Range/Practice), I also tend to hunch over with more knee bend and take larger divots with my 7-8-9iron while I tend to hit my 3-4 a little thin at times. If I don't keep down and aware of my knee bend, I will top or thin my wedges at times, especially on a lie below my feet.

This has prompted me to drastically change my iron fit, I will be going from a 39" 3iron with .5" step downs to a 39.5" 3iron with 3/8"(.375) Step downs with a 1/4" step from 9 to PW and PW/SW/LW all the same length! This will change my full set from a 35.5"PW and 39" 3iron(3.5" total length difference) to a 39.5" 3iron and 37" PW(2.5" total length difference). I noticed my spine angle stays constant and my arm distance from my body does as well, MUCH more comfortable standing over my 8-9-PW at this length.

Based on my Driver swing speed(118-120) and a recommendation from a club pro I trust I will also be changing from Hard-Stepped TT Dynalite gold XP S300's to TT Tour Concept X100's. I always ran my iron shafts a flex softer than I needed, but I hit some X100's and my distances were much more consistent

I will also be Doweling these shafts this time around.

I need my shafts to get here so I can do this, Pumped to see results.

6'6" here (actually closing in on 6'5" again; the reversal process has begun!). I play my Mizunos at +1" and +2* up. I have been static and dynamic (lie board) fitted to these specs, and they have worked for years.

One thing I have done recently is cut down the length of my woods. My drivers play at 44.0" to 44.25". My 3-woods are all 42.5", and my 5-woods are all at 41.75".

WIth regard to swingweight on irons with the longer length, most of us taller guys also have larger hands, and thus require larger grips. I use the Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G midsize with 2 wraps of build up tape, in most cases. What I find is that with the irons the increase in swingweight due to the additional length is offset by the larger grip, so my irons are right around D4 with no other adjustments, give or take a point or so. The real problem is with my woods. By cutting them down and adding a larger grip, the swingweight can go as low as C6. So I use a lot of lead tape. I hit my woods so much better, though, with the shorter length, even with all the lead tape added.

Between the longer irons and the slew of lead tape on the woods, one thing I have found is that an X flex shaft suits me better. I discovered this quite by accident via some eBay clubs I procured. One was a set of 695MBs in my length/lie specs that I got for a great price because they had DG X100s. Turned out to be a great shaft for me! The other accident was with a Titleist 905R driver with a Purple Ice 85S shaft, fully inserted. When I cut it down and checked the swingweight, I also had it frequency analyzed. That deep bore-through--even with all the lead tape--flexes out to an X, and works great. These incidents have allayed my fears of an X shaft. I notice very little difference in feel (not boardy in the least), but a great improvement in control.

Edit: Forgot to add, my putter is 34.5". I always assumed I was just +1" in my putter, too, but was fitted by a putting instructor who has worked with some top level professionals into a 34.5" putter, and boy did my putting improve!! I found out it was dangerous to merely assume that just because one is tall that longer clubs are automatically the solution. My experience with my woods and putter has taught me differently, though it holds with my irons.

6'6" here as well. I play +1.75" long, standard lie. I stand a bit away from the ball, with a narrowish stance, all of which lead to my hands being a bit higher. About a 6'6" wingspan.

I also play x100s in the shafts, but because of the additional length, they're probably playing more toward s400's if I had to guess. no counterbalancing here, and I just like the midsize grip with no tape build up, so my swingweights are in the e4-e5 range. Play woods at standard, also with heaps of lead tape to get the swing weight up to the e0-e1 range. I need to experiment with the hybrid. Seems I could do better putting an inch into it or so, but currently it's at standard, also with loads of lead tape.

35" - 36" putter, standard lie.

Im 6'2" and WTF 36, I play plus 1 inch with about a half degree upright. I was playing 1/2 inch over but found that mI felt i was so far that I was dipping more than what I should do comfortably so I now have gone to an inch over and while a bit heavier I like the feel and my back doesnt hurt as much

My wrist-to-floor is almost 38" and I find 2 up and +.5 to fit me fine. I do like to stand a little tall at address though.

Your specs really depend upon your specs/physique, and how you swing.

I have similar specs. 37-1/2 WTF and 2* up +1/2. However taylormade irons are +1/2 off the shelf (compared to most OEM'S) so I got my Burner 2.0 set bent up and they work great.

Better question.....does the extra length let you take a divot? I play at + 1/2" with a lot of shoulder rounding. I've been told to work on my posture. Since I'm a picker trying to get down to ball I'm considering even going to +1" or 1.25". Thoughts?

Get comfortable over a 5-iron, or one you were fit for then step up 3/8" for 4,3,2iron and down 3/8" to your wedges. I have been using what I quoted above and I am much happier with the results I am getting with my longer 7-8-9-PW as I do not need to bend over any more to use the club, my spine angle for a 5iron and LW are almost identical.

It did not affect my divot taking, I hit down on my irons roughly 5° - If anything it has made my divots more consistent.

I definitely take divots with my irons at +1.75". If you're strong enough to generate speed with the additional swing weight of longer irons (than what you're currently playing), I'd say go for it.

Ok, lots of trial and error this past month, went from MP 63s to MB 712s

Tried standard, +2* upright (titleist standards), to some longer irons -3.5*, with the short irons @ -2* flat. All plus +.5" titleist , 9-60* same length.

Height as measured In golf shoes I play in, 6'3 3/4" 35.75" WTG, 197lbs, Wide, Broad Shoulders, Wear a 44R Suit-Jacket and the fit would be snug. I went into a lot of detail this time.

Here's the full specs of my new setup, Based off my measurements.
- Tour Concept X-100's Straight in. 39.5" 3iron with 3/8" Step downs

Lie Angles, Measured with Maltby Loft/Lie machine. Individual club length listed as well.

3iron - 58.5° - Length 39.5"
4iron - 59.25° - Length 39.125"
5iron - 60.5° - Length 38.75"
6iron - 61.5° - Length 38.375"
7iron - 62° - Length 38.0"
8iron - 63° - Length 37.625"
9iron - 63.25° - Length 37.250"
PW - 64° - Length 37.0"
SW - 65.75° - Length 37.0"
LW - 67.25° - Length 37.0"

I am noticing when I record my range session that my Spine angle is MUCH better now on my 8,9, and Wedges. I feel more confident over them, they feel better in my hands at basically 1.5" Over STD.

A difference of 2.5" total length over the whole set, 3iron through Lob Wedge.

My ball-striking and Divot formation has been more consistent than I believe it ever has with this setup, and my spine angle changes very little from 3iron to Wedge.
