Ok, lots of trial and error this past month, went from MP 63s to MB 712s

6'2.5" wtf 36.5" / wide shoulders / about 230 build

Tried standard, +2* upright (titleist standards), to some longer irons -3.5*, with the short irons @ -2* flat. All plus +.5" titleist , 9-60* same length.

Settled on same length before + .5" titleist stds

3i - 58*
4 - 59
5 -59.5
6 - 60*
7- 60.5*
8 - 61.5
9,pw,sw,lw - 62*

Putter 70* @ 35.25"
Never went this flat and long on the scoring irons, been practicing with the 9 thru LW, ability to created shots with the flatter scoring irons seems easier vs the upright for me

Sometimes I wish I would have went with the 3/8's, I might do that going from the 6i down to the 3i. It seems like such a good idea

If you lean my irons against a table or wall and set all the lie angles flat on the floor, the grips are all within 1" of being aligned at the top. the 3iron-7iron all play as almost exact same length when you line them up this way, this is the main reason for my lie angles the way they are. Even my putter is less than 1" off the length of the wedges. Just made sense to me to do it this way, The only variable is ball placement and distance from me, I use the same swing for nearly every iron.

All lie angles set to proper on the ground, check out how little the length of the clubs vary from 3iron to Lob Wedge, this is how the club is set at address. My spine angle is basically forced to be the same throughout the club ranges, I move the ball closer to me and back in stance for a Wedge, Further out from me and up towards middle of stance for a long iron. The putter is shorter because I want to be straight armed with my left arm, almost reaching for the club.

Edit: Added picture to illustrate what I am saying. My back feels SO MUCH better after 18 or 36 holes!

Anyone using a 42.5" 3/4w, I have a little apprehension cutting it down.

Playing a 44.75" , thinking of maybe going to 44.5"

6"3" 38.5" wrost to floor. Ping static says +.5" and Maroons which is approx 4* up but I have always played +1" and 2* up. I tried to hit some standard/standard irons the other day and it jut felt like I had to work too hard to get to the ball. I am sure I could get used to it as I have have been the same height since I was 15 (now 35) and didnt get fitted till the summer after I graduated high school which is really the first time I had ever heard of "custom fitting" irons. Made a world of difference though. It does get frustrating not being able to just play off the shelf stuff. I see a lot of good deals but then I start thinking about the cost and effort to remove grips, extend, regrip then worry about swingweight etc.

I've asked the question on here before, do manufacturers adjust head weight for over standard lengths? I know Ping does and have heard Mizuno also has 3 different heads they use, weighted differently for standard, under and over standard lengths. #tallskinnywhiteboyproblems

I am 6'3", 38.5" wtf. Playing i20's at 1" over and maroon dot 4 - 7 and silver dot 8 - U. This was recommended during a ping fitting about two years ago. Seems to be working reasonably well. I've improved my ball striking standing more upright than before. Like the length, not 100% sure on the lie yet. This year, I've been practicing a somewhat flatter swing plane as away to increase my hip turn. On the course, seem to revert back to my usual swing arc. May be sending them back to ping this off season to "flatten" them to a green dot if I ever get things worked out.

I recently went back to Std Titleist Lie angles and lengths, coupled with a swing change going to more of an upright set up, produced more consistent shot patterns.

Driver and 3w - 45" and 43" respectively

Wrist to floor is about 37 - 37.5 @ 6'2-1/2" , 48 coat

I'm 6'4" tall.

Driver = 44.5" long, 58* lie angle.

Irons: Ping s55 black, bent 1* flat, 6-iron is 38" long. From there I use roughly 3/8" shaft increments. But I basically try to use the shaft length that works best for me. My 4-iron is 38-1/4" log, but the PW is 36-3/8" long.

Putter: 35" long, 72* lie angle.

My opinion is that upright lie angles are too risky to use. The golf swing really doesn't work that way and that is why the 'standard' spec for clubs are built the way they are. Of course, if you go with longer shafts like I do, the effective lie angle becomes more upright. So, I try to keep the effective lie angle fairly standard.

6'3 1/2" ,Wrist to floor is around 36" , 2011 Callaway RazrX forged with flighted 5.5's at +1.25" and around 4* flat . I have a flatter swing plane than most of you guys I guess. My miss can sometimes be a bit of a push but I tend to hook only my 7 iron, mostly due to a visual thing with looking down at that club in particular. It's been a process with these irons since February, I've only been playing this lie configuration since early June but in the last couple weeks my comfort level has really gone up considerably.

6'4" Tall

Play TM Tour Preferred MBs +3/4" and 2 degrees upright with PXi 5.5s. 6 Iron is 38" long and lie angle is 64 degrees, 50 & 54 degree tour trusty wedges are 35 3/4" long with 66 degree lie angles and 60 degree tour trusty is 35 1/4" long with 66 degree lie angle for reference purposes. Swing is upright so flatter lie angles are no bueno for me.

Swingweights for 5-PW is D5.
Wedge swingweights are D4.

When you get older, and if you gain weight, you will lose height. Avg. is roughly 1" per decade, but with weight gain it can be as much as 2" per decade. If you were 6'4" when you graduated high school and you gain 75lbs by the time you're 30, you're probably like 6'2" now. However, your arms don't shink. So you get that lopsided height to wingspan. And if you have a wider chest/torso then you can really get some gangly arms on some weighted down skeletal structures. Not everyone that is over 6' tall needs upright lie angles. That is Dick's or GG or Golfsmith level fitting thought. Wrist to floor is a good place to start. You then try the vertical line test on the ball. And don't be afraid to play underlength iron shafts, or choke up. If you have long arms and you find yourself having control issues, shorten it up and see how tight the dispersion starts to get. Forget about distance with irons, it's about distance to pin.

6'5''. Currently setup for +1'' On every club with 2* Up also on every club. I have been fitted in the past at 3-4* Up which I hit the ball really well but my swing has changed a little since then and my current seems to be the way to go for me right now. 38'' Putter as well.

Those guys that are upright, how many Continue that through the wedges
Build myself a set that is +1 (I'm 6'3") so that I can hold the grip like normal and I continued it in the wedges.

Instead of playing a standard length and a little upright, I can play normal lies now and feel like I have some room to work up and down the grip a bit.

Chipping has seen a huge improvement. I was playing upright wedges to match the irons. Now they all match. 1" long and 1* upright.
