You can find really nice watch straps for much less! Just google watch straps or watch bands and you will find many alternatives. You could probably pick up a nice leather strap for $50. If you have a spring bar tool, they are easy to change. If you don't have one, any jeweler could change it for you for a small charge.

Uh oh, i just got the same watch! You have me worried as it is comfortable when I play golf but worried about the rubber band snapping

I wear a watch except while golfing. The feel of a watch on my wrist has always been uncomfortable to me when swinging the club. I have a few nice watches and want to keep them in as good of condition as possible. Now, I know that a 200 meter Tag Heuer dive watch is never going to be taken 660 feet below the surface of anything and won't be damaged by a round of golf, but that's not why I bought it. I bought it because I like the way that it looks. My watches stay at home or in the car when I play.

I didn't till I discovered Skagen. Super-thin leather band and I don't even know it's there. Now I can actually tell how slow those dupes ahead of me are!!

You'd be surprised on the not damaging part. Repetitive impacts from the golf swing can't be great for a watch. Like I said above, I golfed with a watch on right up until the point I had to send my Baume and Mercier back to the factory to be rebuilt because the self winding mechanism no longer worked. That's also a high end 200 meter dive watch. Obviously this isn't going to happen to every one's watch while playing but it certainly happened to mine. Could it just be a coincidence and maybe was a defective watch? Absolutely. But the Baume rep asked me straight up if I golfed in the watch because this is what he has seen happen.
