What's your Smash Factor? Highest you've seen?

Dang, a lot of people on here getting better smash factor than tour pros, surprised I haven't seen your names up on sunday...oh yeah... also above 1.5 means nothing, if you hit 1.50 and have everything else in place be happy. Ill be contacting everyone over 1.5 for lessons soon

We would expect players on higher levels to be correctly fitted to their clubs, but that vary just as much as among amateurs.

This year i helped on of the biggest talents in DK for quite some time to make it to the European Tour (LPGA).
The hole bag was fitted to her from Titleist HQ fitting center in UK, and it almost destroyed this players career, it was FAR from good, it was actually the absolute WORSE fitting i ever saw given to a player no matter level.

So dont be surprised to see that Touring pros is not always on top here, many of them still have a long way to go with their gear before they are there.

According to a few meters out there that I have used I am around 1.45-1.50 with irons and 1.48-1.52 with the driver. Now, if you use certain monitors that back-calculate from ball speed to get a swing speed you will alway get a 1.50 as that is the value they set up in the calculation from what I have been told.

No I agree, I have seen that as well, fittings can go horribly wrong even for professionals. I have witnessed it as well as a friend had went in for a fitting since his first sponsorship with a big company, first one went very wrong and those clubs just never felt right. Eventually it was righted but still it was horrible to start. I am just saying that may amateurs yes may get a 1.5 sometimes but saying over 1.5 and having inconsistent numbers essentially means nothing, especially with a players path or plane being off causing those numbers. I just wish more guys could get out with pros that do put up those numbers and play with them and see the real difference at that level, even from extremely good amateurs the rift is often a chasm, even if you do get your gear down the rest of the golf is a huge portion. I know there are several guys on here that are very good, much better than me, but you don't see them in threads such as this as they understand it as well. Completely agree with what you said as well though.

I can agree with this one big time. High school match playing behind the one and only Eldrick "Tiger" Woods (he was in the first group and I was in the coach's group). The sound of the ball coming off his club even then was just different. Even if you just go watch a tour player at the range or on a course you will note a difference between the sound with the "same" club you play. They are just that much better.

The simulator I play at in the winter gives me ball speed and head speed, but not smash factor. Did I do the calculation right to get my smash factor??
