Other way around, he needs the 11.25* head because he plays it a little over 2* open which brings the effective loft of the 11.25 down to his 8.5...opening driver face angle decreases loft, closing the face increases...I know it's the opposite of what common sense would lead us to believe but it's the truth

That chart also read his face angle as 2 3/2 which is really 3.5 if my math is correct. 3/2 is 1.5 in itself so who knows what the actual specs of it are... it doesn't really matter anyway. We all have to laugh at ourselves for trying to really get to the bottom of his driver specs. He's always been weird about giving info about his clubs... he won't even give credit to the performance of the new Covert stuff. He switched to the 3 wood because his old one kept cracking... give Nike some love for making a good club...

his specs dont really translate into being the best golfer in the world though...toe down..kick angle shaft load. shaft length dont make your swing. The only one that really translates to a good swing distance wise is spin rate launch angle and ss. but any number of variations of those can lead to the same or beter output. being good at golf literally has no correlation to your handicap and how good you are.

Tiger Woods is "traditionalist". If they didn't use hybrids back in the day, he wont use it now. Like he will never use a belly or long putter.

I don't think that is why he doesn't use a hybrid, if it helped him win I have to believe he would use it. He has mentioned before that he hit's them to high and has a hard time controlling the trajectory.

I am in a Catch 22 right now because I love hitting that 2 iron low and with the hybrid I am having a hard time hitting it low. I’m also finding the advantages of going in some of the par 5s Because the par 5s have been lengthened across the board, I am finding I am hitting more 2 irons and 3 woods in the par 5s rather than 4 , 5 and 6 irons. I think that’s one of the things I am going to be testing over this winter, is trying to find one where I can put in play for certain golf courses.[/color]
