mass golfing yet?

I am in the merrimack valley area. Anyone start playing yet? Far Corner wasn't open when I called and I am not sure if they are the first to open for the season or not.

Still need to head south to RI. We don't have snow on most courses now and many are open. Although that may change with the new storm coming in.

Far as I can see, all courses are still closed around here and will be for some time. The south shore is looking good, as all the snow has melted and should have a few courses that were open for play.

I'm in North Andover and haven't heard of anything opening around here yet.

I know that some of the cape courses have opened, I know the Dennis Highlands and Bayberry Hills down in the South Yarmouth area are good to go....long drive though

Played North Kingstown today. There was no grass that didn't have any less than 10-15 goose doppings every damn square foot. Won't go back there any time soon. Even on many of the greens. Almost like they said "Let's open" without any kind of course maintenance from the winter.

pinehills will not be open by the 27th, It will be on the 29th

Playing Pinehills Nicklaus Saturday. Both courses open and taking tee times.

Played Red Tail up in Devens this past week with a Golfnow special for under $50 with a cart.

Had never played the course before, so unfortunately can't do much of a comparison. For it being early April and snow still melting in some places, the conditions were ok. The fairways were in pretty decent shape for early spring. The rough was a bit spotty and not really that penal. Bunkers were still a bit firm, but playable. Only real issue in my mind was the greens. They were rolling reasonably true, but they were brutally slow. Wouldn't really say it's the course's fault by any stretch, just a function of it being early.

On a separate note, it rained the night before I played, so the course was cart path only. However, I noticed that most of the course didn't have paved cart paths. Instead, the paths were some combination of dirt, rock, gravel, etc. All in all, Red Tail seemed like it has some potential to be a pretty nice place, especially if they sunk some money into proper cart paths. For April golf, it was a bit rough around the edges, but can't complain with a decent price on Golfnow.
