Agreed!! Awesome playing with you. I agree. I feel I played a LOT better than my score. Couple of hiccups prevented a pretty low score. That's ok. I think I won a skin with a net birdie on 5.

I was just going to say the same thing. I played a lot better than my score shows. Oh wait a minute... No I didn't. Sorry for making you both bare witness to that horrible 4 1/2 hours of my life. I was on a golf course and I had some clubs wih me. But it certainly wasn't golf.

But it is what it is. We all gotta have that 'most horrible round ever' at some point. Regardless of my score it was fun playing with you Brian. Ken... whatever I play with you every weekend anyway!

I'm busy all weekend so Crystal is out for me. I was going to play Ct National on the 19th but I just remembered its my sons Christening. So I might get in trouble if I miss that. Looks like my next definite event is June 2nd at Country View. I have the 28th off so I might try for Pawtucket Country Club.

I played Potowomut yesterday also hoping to redeem myself from Triggs. Sadly the shanks stayed with me at Potowomut. It was awful. It wasn't till the 18th tee box where I made a change and hit a good shot. And again on my approach shot at 18. Better late than never I suppose.

Potowomut was deceptive. Short and straight would probably have won the day. Off a bit, and you're in one of the many bunkers that littered almost each hole. I shouldn't have had that hard of a time... but hey. Oh well.

Like there were some short par 5s (9 & 10) that I was a mid iron out for 2nd shot. Pushed wide, in bunker, and 2 shots to get out of each. Bleah.

their membership is actually quite reasonable....is it a nicely groomed course?

Yes. Quite the nice course. If I lived in the area, I'd look at it also. I feel I'd have lots of fun on the course playing it over and over.

I might do the free round at some point. I really liked the course. Its not long and there weren't any holes that looked really difficult. But it has its quirks. The 3rd hole par 3 is harder than it looks. The green is TINY.

I just registered for the June 2nd Tournament at Country View.

Have you played Country View? I've never played it before. So I have no idea if its a nice course or not.

I just Filled out the information for a free round at Potowomut. I also looked at Pawtucket Country club. They have a junior executive membership for $3,000 a year. No initiation fees. I might check that out.

I live about 2 miles from Metacomet. Ive always wanted to play it but I don't know any members.

Country view is meh. The greens are impossibly hard. Not very good condition ever. It's the red headed stepchild of the owners of meadowbrook Richmond Exeter.

Just not a nice layout nor course IMHO

Interesting. When was the last time you played it? Maybe they cleaned it up?

I personally played it last august...but my golf team played it 2 weeks ago, and they said the greens made kirkbrae's (notrious for being hard and lightning) looks soft and slow lol.

just for close to 60$ I would rather put my money elsewhere...YMMV

Gotcha. Thanks for the heads up. I might be playing Pawtucket on the 28th. I had previously taken the day off, so might give it a shot. Ive never played it.

Also, are you a member are Kirkbrae? My mother owns a house down the street from there and I drive by it quite a bit. That's one of the courses that I've always drooled over but never had the chance to play. Is it as nice as everyone says?

I am not a member there, but get to play it quite often. It is quite a nice course....greens make it very hard to score well....my best score there is 87. very hard to stick greens...and if you are above the hole...impossible.

tight fairways...and are soft so plays alot longer than it states. Not as nice as Lake of Isles but the nicest course I play on regularly by far

My putting was ON! I had 14 putts on the front. 30 total

Shot an 87 with a couple of unecessary doubles on the back. Could have bed. Much better. Also lipped out 3 birdie putts. But settled for 6 pars. Not sure where I finished because BryAn was t there so the scores need to be uploaded.

Good stuff. Purse was in great shape. But greens were rock hard. Impossible to hold it. On the back 9 par 5 I hit my second shot to 3 feet in from of the pin only for it to rocket off the back into the woods. I ended with a 6 grrr lol

I won't be back at an event till mid June. Can't wait !

A buddy of mine doing the RIGA Invitational packages got in touch with me. He had to leave for business and won't be able to make his tee time next week at ... Potowomut. He asked if I wanted to go in his stead. After having just played it and want my revenge, I jumped at it.

Damn you guys. I won't be able to at again to June 2nd likely. I know you said it's a cramp course but I need all the points I can get since I played only once this month with a poor showing.

Also, I have no illusions that ill win this thing. But my goal is to make the Ryder Cup team for RI. Top 24 from RI go on to make the team. Currently I'm in 8th. I think this would be a really fun event. So that's my goal for this tour this year. Get the nod for that team. Anyone else have this as their goal?
