On the BBC commentary earlier in his round Peter Alliss said that he thought he must have a low lofted 3 wood like Mickelson but his WITB says he is a 15 deg 3 wood......this is because the guy just absolutely crushes the ball!

Yeah it sounded like that to me too. The i20 irons do sound like that though. I remember him hoseling something on a certain Sunday before and was thinking oh not again lol

He showed a lot of guts and class during and after the playoff. His stock went up in my eyes.

One of the coolest displays of ballstriking I ever saw was him on the range on Sunday at the US Open at Pebble in 2010. He was hitting nothing but bullets that went no more than 15 feet off the ground with everything from wedge to 3 wood. What was really cool is that he was doing it with a normal looking swing, as opposed to the low abrupt finish like Tiger.

Then he cold topped a 3 wood, and everyone at the range laughed. He looked at his caddy like, "WTF", and looked at the crowd just slightly embarrassed. Just heightened how much I like him.

When he hit that tee shot on the second playoff hole it immediately brought back those memories

My buddies watched 'El Pato' during a practice round at Augusta the year he won.

They said they have never seen a guy just CRUSH a golf ball like he does. They were totally impressed and not surprised at all watching the Sunday playoff.

I'm looking forward to catching him in person at the PGA this summer.

Ball was murdered...it was so low when he hit it I thought he topped it by the looks of it, then he just picked up his tee quickly and started walking. Was really pulling for Cabrera because 3 pga tour wins with them all being Majors would have been legendary!

According to Ping it is a 15* bent to 12.5* with an Aldila RIP 80x tipped 1"

I suspect Cabrera's "supposed" 3 iron loft is comparable to Kenny Perry's 3 iron, which he said was 17*. Cabrera is a big man, still its hard to imagine him hitting a stock lofted 3i as far as Adam's 3 wood. Then again, relatively speaking, I am built like Cabrera and hit my 17* 2 iron as far as many hit driver.
