PGA Show Pics - Putters

This is Callaway's new putter. I loved the anser style one. I really made me seriously consider going back to a regular length putter. Great feel & very easy to line up. This is going to be Callaway's year. They have some great product coming out in 2007

 

 

 

 

 

This was a Callaway demo putter with a built in alignment laser. They have no plans to release a version of it to the public.

 

 

 

 

 

But this is almost the exact same thing.

 

 

 

Of course you could always opt for the Ferrari (at $900 MSRP) .

This was a very interesting grip. It is USGA legal. It MOST certainly makes putting easier. My biggest grip with it is that the material is plastic. My hands were really sweaty, and I felt them slipping on the grip. I gave this feedback to the owner and told him if he ever made a Winn like grip, to please call me, because I would use it in a second. If you struggle with putting, and don't want to go to a long or mid putter, you really need to try this.

Odysseys look nice, but i'm trying to run away from the xg insert, looking at new putters now, i think its wayy too soft! But those are some nice pictures you got there, except that macgregor... :drinks:

That's Table Rock's booth, so yeah they're for sale - probably not the SCADO ones in the glass case though.

 

If that's a SCG Napa below, that's a REALLY rare bird.

I love the look of the new Odyssey Marxman putters, but honestly I am very disappointed in the look of the Macgregor putters. I was really interested in these and then when I see them I want to :drinks: .

I wonder what the MSRP's gonna be on the Adams putter with the playstation portable glued to it? I'm going to guess more than I'm willing to pay for a putter that I can't also use for a phone and internet surfing.

That grip is f-ing huge. I don't know if I could get used to something like that.

This is going to flop hard. A grand for an Adams putter (is it even milled?) that is not USGA approved. So basically a grand for a training aid. Sales won't even reach the hundreds in N.America. Most shops probably will not even consider carrying it.

 

I'm not bashing Adams here, but they have zero tradition in premium putters.

You'll find that 1000 dollar Adams on ebay for under 200 bucks in a year. Thats just way to much money for a training aid.

That new MacGregor Bobby Grace putter is still a milled putter with a great looking finish IMHO.

 

The 'face plate' with the yellow band around it comes off (hence the name 'Face-Off') and I'm sure will come in more muted tones. I'm sure the yellow was designed to grab people's attention as is now quite a popular marketing tool in golf these days (e.g. nike SQ/staff bag, Bridgestone staffbag, UST PF V2 shaft, etc...)

 

The model Fred Funk was using at the Sony Open was a mallet with a burgundy band around the 'face plate'.

 

The model above is similar to the Limited Edition MOI blade putter in this thread.

 

I think the new 'Face-Off' putters look pretty cool and I can't wait to see more! Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I wouldn't be too quick to judge. :D :drinks:
