perhaps i may have interpreted a couple of the rules wrong. reading it a bit deeper I seem to have mixed up a few words.

Either way. Game is over. Panthers beat the Patriots.

Patriots have been benefited by questionable calls an impressive amount of times. They'll surely get more, and referree mistakes will happen. If the patriots don't like it, play better and don't leave it up to the ref's.
what is ironic is how the replacement refs were criticized and this year, I have seen more horrible calls than in all the past years......in the redskins minnesota game, both of the skins receivers were tackled in the end zone and the zebras suddenly lost their flag on the last play of the game in minn.
yesterday, again a horrible call on the home team's field.....love the reasoning though...he couldn't have caught the ball...I guess not when you are in a bearhug.

The Pats have now be screwed out of 2 W's this year. Unreal.
That was pretty f'ing bad.
I can someone see the argument for the call that cost us the Jets game but tonight's just blew my mind :(
Are you implying that Gronk woulda had a chance to get back to that ball? He had no chance of catching that pass.
LOL this is priceless. I know alot of people hate NE for whatever reason, but they got boned plain and simple. If you say otherwise, you are crazy.

How do you know? The safety picked off the pass max 2 yards in front of him where the foul began.....whose to say it doesnt deflect off his shoulder into the air? Gronk was facing the ball and being bear hugged and held while being pushed back not to mention Kuechly never looked back at the ball (every single method of PI Kuechly committed). AT THE MINIMUM it was D holding or illegal contact. Which meant another play. PI equals a play from the goal line.....The worst part about this is, they threw the flag....convened for a conference and decided no penalty occurred essentially. If it was not PI, it sure as hell was holding or illegal contact.

So now when a WR is running a fly deep route, and the CB drags him down and the WR falls and the ref throws the flag at the spot.....but the QB throws it down field in anticipation where hed be.....the safety picks it 25 yards down field......its uncatchable so pick the flag up? Is that what you are saying???? Please, get out of here with that mess.

That is 2 games this weekend that were decided by blatantly awful blown calls.
That's one of the worst analogies I've ever heard. I can only hope this entire post was sarcasm. If the ball had been catchable, they would not have picked up the flag. He couldn't have caught it if he hadn't been held (which I'm not arguing, BTW). It's not that difficult of a concept to grasp.

Let me guess, Texans fan? I'd have a lot of anger built up inside of me too.

I'm not to upset but if these two games costs us a birth in the playoffs I'll go through the roof.
I have no anger built up inside and not a Texans fan. I'm impressed by your amount of butthurt though.

I have nothing against the Pats either. I've actually defended them multiple times in this thread. You win some, you lose some. NE got outplayed by Carolina. Get over it and move on.

Explain the difference of the deep example......and why it's absurd.

I responded to your post with why I disagreed and listed examples. You just throw out nothing of value anymore, just go straight for the personal jabs. You must not understand, you can disagree all you want but explain why...that's what a discussion is.

I digress. I don't think it was catchable. You disagree, that's fine. This happens every time someone disagrees with one of y

Yes it's "uncatchable" in the example I gave too....so what is the difference and why is it absurd again? I get you thought the ne play was uncatchable....I've been talking about the example I gave the whole time. You can disagree with me all you want, that's not the problem here. You never bothered to explain why it was absurd ....still...but it's ok. Let's just agree to disagree.

If there was no penalty then why did he throw the flag? Did it slip out of his pocket? It was an obvious pass interference plain and simple. Should have been one play from the one yard line and no clock. Very lame ending to an otherwise great game.
Thats what surprises me the most....the fact that the flag was thrown indicating there was a penalty.......they huddled up to talk about it, and then picked it up. To treat that essentially as no penalty is pretty crazy when they had 3 to choose from.

Baseball, you have no more argument......
I don't think the ball was catchable and you're not going to change my mind. I was watching it live so I'm aware of exactly how the play played out. I watched it several times over. Gronk was going towards the back of the end zone and had no chance of stopping and getting back to that ball. The flag was thrown because, had it been catchable, it would have been PI. I've seen numerous times where flags have been thrown for PI only to be picked up when all the officials deemed the ball uncatchable and I feel like this was exactly the case.

Disagree with me if you'd like, but I'm not commenting anymore regarding the outcome of this play. Had the patriots played better and been able to tackle Ginn on a basic short comeback route, we wouldn't even be talking about this.

I agree. And that video analysis is

Quite lame.

Just glad the "brady mystique" is done and the pats are being treated properly.

Gronk was not catching that ball, Brady's fault, bad pass.

It was PI or holding no question about it. To argue otherwise you have an agenda or you are biased. I'm far from a Pats fan, but that my friend was a penalty. Ball was not uncatchable by any standard. If he is not held he could have easily made some sort of play on the ball, who's to say he doesn't tip it, ball flies in the air, and teammate catches it?

Uncatchable is when the ball is 20 feet over Shaqs head. He could have made a play on the ball and a defender stopped him from doing that, therefore it is a penalty.

That was a crap pass with no chance of being caught.

He would make no play. The defender would have intercepted the ball, just as

The defender intercepted the ball. Focus on the defender. He gets the jump way ahead of gronk even knowing what's going on and breaks well ahead of gronk to the ball. Look how easily he makes the catch. Even with nothing impeding gronk

Always good my friend! Thank you for asking and I hope that you and your family are doing well!

Let me ask you this, why did the ref throw a flag if it was not PI?

Did you see the statement by the NFL? They basically said that the refs used the correct process. Not that they made the corect call.

Yes, thank you, knock on wood, all good here and best to you and yours during this rapidly approaching holiday season.

This call broke from the norm of what is usually considered uncatchable for sure.

Pretty shocking call. I can't complain, though ; )

Scratch, cheers, hope all is well.

That ball is picked off

It would have been highly unlikely he would have caught but there was still a chance!!!

That is what others fail to understand.

It was catchable!

If Gronk leapt up and froze

Like Trinity in The Matrix

And kicked off both cleats simultaneously with the left one striking the guy who intercepted the ball (like he was the primary receiver) in the chin and the right one hitting the ball and deflecting it 20 feet up int the air so Gronk could change direction in time to catch it.

And this is just one scenario!

In other news, this season has been crazy.

I believe 6 playoff teams from a year ago don't have a winning record.

The 2 QBs from last years Super Bowl, Kaepernick and Flacco, are 21st and 26th in passer rating, respectively.

Nick Foles leads the league in QBR and hasn't thrown a pick thus far.

Mario Williams quietly has 11 sacks in Buffalo, but ESPN would rather talk about Suh and his 4.5 sacks.

Carolina leads the league in PPG allowed (13.5) while Dallas is giving up almost 440 YPG.

Russel Wilson has quietly turned into one of the most efficient passers in the league with a rating of 105.1 while averaging 8.59 YPA.

QBs in NY, Eli and Geno Smith, are 1 and 2 in INTs thrown this season.

Riley Cooper, they guy everyone thought the Eagles should/would cut this offseason, is averaging 19.8 YPC and has scored 7 TDs thus far this season.

Picked up Pierre Thomas in my fantasy league because Marshawn Lynch had a bye. He got me 13 point on a projection of 11, not to bad. I need to win the last 3 weeks in a row to make the playoffs.
