I know all about the 49ers, they and the Giants had some epic games.

I said that Eli has won 2 more than they have in almost 20 years.

Joe Montana played in 4 Super Bowls

And won 4

Eli has played in 2 and won 2

Kepernack has played in one

And he lost
Yeah Im still not sure what your point is. A superbowl is a superbowl....now, later, past or present.

Eli IMP has always been very overrated. I'm not going to take anything away from him in clutch situations though. When he's in a big game, late in a game, etc. the dude can flat out perform. His playoff record and Super Bowl upsets are very impressive. With that out of the way, to me, he isn't a guy who makes the players around him better. You take away the great D and Oline and this is what you get. He's not on that Peyton, Rodgers, TB or Bree's level. For those guys it basically doesn't matter who lines up at receiver. If their line is decimated it seems to not even affect them. Eli needs all the pieces in place to make it work.

Do I consider him a top 10 QB? Sure. But he's not much above that 10 line.
While that may or may not be an accurate assessment of Eli Manning, you can't overestimate the importance of the olines that those others have played behind (yes, aside from AR). Put any one of those cats behind, say, Jay cutler's line over the last four years and the results would be tragic. Hell, Tom Brady and Payton manning would either be paralyzed or dead. Drew Brees would most assuredly be in traction. They've had ridiculous protection throughout most of their careers and have certainly taken advantage it. Much like Eli has...

Eli Manning has 2 Super Bowl wins

2 Super Bowl MVPs

He led his team on the road and beat everybody in his way for one. And beat an undefeated team for the other.

He has proven himself a big time clutch 4rth Quarter performer with the ability to lead and throw touchdowns to win the biggest games.

He has 2 more Super Bowl wins

Than a high profile team like the 49er have

In almost 20 years

Just keeping it "real".
Let's be real..

Eli Manning is an above average QB but he's not great. Not by any stretch.

Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson and Joe Namath all have Super Bowl wins.. Super Bowl wins don't make a QB great.

Peyton is 10x the qb that Eli is yet he only has 1 ring. Marino doesn't have any rings.

Eli Manning closes big games.

He is a big time, big game QB. 4rth Quarter.

Beat the Pats, dashed that undefeated season (Beat an 18-0) team, Super Bowl MVP.

Went out on the road,

Beat the Falcons

Beat the Pack (yeah, that shook it up, Pack was 15-1 and hadn't lost at home in 19 games. Eli threw for over 300yds and 3tds)

Beat the 49ers

All in their "houses", or whatever the kids say

Beat the Pats...Again.

Super Bowl MVP

So, let's not kid around. Either you inderstand what a great winner is or you don't.

A Champion wins the big game.

So, you guys still think Romo is better?

Statistically, Romo is a better QB and it's really not even close.

Eli Manning has won his fair share of big games, no one is denying that.

I'm not even sure why you came into this thread and completely derailed it? No one said Eli was a bad QB, he just isn't a great QB. He has won 2 superbowls but he's still barely a top 10 QB in the league.

I know, the stats.

Nomar is better than Jeter ; )

But, you can't measure clutch. Do the stats measure

Making the big play at the most critical time

Vs.

Choking at the most critical time?

And not sure why you say I derailed anything.

There were a bunch of posts about Eli before I said a word on this.
Well I'll leave you with this:

The 1st 6 games of the season are just as important as the last 6. Through the 1st 6 games this year the Giants are 0-6 and Eli has thrown 15 INT's.

If you want to call SF's superbowls irrelevant because they are in the past, then so are NYG's as they're in the past as well.

Bball, when did I say SFs Super Bowls are not important?

Those were some of the best games I have ever seen.

Not sure where you got that.

And it's easy to kick somebody when they are down. There are volumes of press everyday here in NY about Eli.

No Doubt Romo is better then Eli in the Regular season. However if I'm picking a QB for a Playoff Run i would Pick Eli out of everyone in the league. The Dude is made for Big Games.

Hogans! I post from the hell that is NY football. While you sit ther eating keilbasi sandwiches.

But...I can say, yes!

Eli. Look at how he shakes off the D and throws this ball perfectly on top of Tyrees helmet. Skills.

 • 2 weeks later...

The defense was absolutely awful. They've given up 500+ yards 3 times (Denver, SD, Detroit) and over 475 to NYG on opening night. It doesn't matter how many turnovers you force when you give up yards like that.

327 yards or whatever to Calvin Johnson? He's a beast, yes. But to give up 320+ yards to one player is just embarrassing.

Let's not be dramatic. They won today on 5 field goals against a terrible defensive team.

They're only 2 games out of 1st!

o817_zps98903b4e.jpg

Denver put the beat down on RJIII.

And somehow, the Pats won again, being down 17-3 at the half and holding the fish scoreless in the 2nd half. :D

The lucky B@$t@rd$ pulled off another one! Seattle fan here but they played badly in their last two wins.
Writing on the wall, that offense is struggling and the defense isnt playing that great. Very lucky to be matched up with some horrid teams. Seattle having some gift wrapped lucky wins of late.

Fail of the day, the Chargers not punching it in from the 16 inch line to win the game in the 4th quarter. Some God awful play calls there. Also in OT that flag for hitting a "defenseless" WR (Garcon) was a pretty bad flag, but Boger is one of the worst refs in the game so makes sense there.

Yeah. What an ignoramus Incogito is. In this day and age, there's no place for that.

And what... no mention of the Pittsburgh beat down by the Pats? SHAME! Still an injury ridden defensive line, Rothlesburger getting 400yds and still losing to the Pats by 24 (where Brady went for 600). Yeah, both teams combined had over 1000yds.

It's just really nice to have some semblance of an offense 1/2 way through the year... and .. gellin' like Magellin.

Beating up on the Steelers isn't exactly a feat this year. They are HORRID. I mean the Bengals even beat them in a prime time game... when was the last time the Bengals won a prime time night game?

Oh yeah, remember when the Bengals played the Pats this year?
