Nothing better than seeing that TP badge on the club. I would guess someone at TM is badgering R & D to make it part of next year's line.

TM has been on a push for years to sell the public on cast irons rather than forged. Outside of the Japanese market, you will see very little forged product. They have been exclusively cast stainless on wedges for a long time.

I wouldn't even mind a compromise of 8620 form forged irons and wedges. The last TM wedges I really liked were the Fe2O3 Y cutters in 8620.

Keeping the TP line at an elite level for buyers of forged clubs should not be an issue if they want to maintain brand exclusivity. But when the morons in sales and marketing get involved, they will ****** the line down with crappy castings, stupid advertisements, and hashtags.

I dunno, if you watch the commercials, a lot of the staffers (like Day) claim that they now play a "distance iron". Since TMAG would clearly never over exaggerate or mislead anyone in a commercial, my assumption is that the staffers will keep on playing the distance iron as they said they would.

I don't foresee a complete switch, but rather a switch to a combo set. Keeping the RBT in the long irons, and the new MC/MB in the scoring clubs. Except Kaymer, who I predict sticking with the RACs

For me, I just don't understand why TM ever got away from the TP line. The 2005 TP Forged cavity irons were probably the best looking set I've seen in a while. Now it's all TP or Tour or both. The old TP badge carried a reputation with it, that I think after 2005 started going downhill. Now, it just seems TM has turned into a marketing monster. They make good stuff, but it's not like it used to be. This is all my opinion, and don't care in all honesty what they come out with next, if it's good.. I"ll play it.
