FUBUKI V Series

To me, this feels a lot like a 'new generation' of Fubuki K only smoother, I do not feel that it is VERY counter balanced. To me it gives me a nice mid trajectory, low spin for sure. Only played it for 9 holes with no range time, so I need more time to figure things out to the bottom of it.

It looks good, too. The picture does not do justice at all, the gradation/transition from matte white to the shiny IP finish looks much better in person.

Curious as to any updates or feedback on the new fubuki? Just ordered a few for my driver and 3W

I have not really had the chance to test it thoroughly, as I am quite busy lately. Also the fact that we have 3 very intriguing shafts coming out about the same time, so my testing time is kind of divided between those 3: TPT Golf (which is amazing, for a new company whom none of the staff plays any golf at al), the Diamana X (another masterpiece from Mitsubishi, soon to be called Mitsubishi Chemical as opposed to MRC) and the Fubuki V.

However, early testing shows that this is not the Fubuki we used to know. It is not counter-balanced anymore, that's for sure. However, I found it to be quite close to the Fubuki K, which is one of my favorite shaft of all time. I found it launching on the higher side, with low spin. Feel is quite similar to the K it replaces, which to me is great. Stable, too.

Hope this helps.

I get so confused about the Fubuki Series & I still game the OG Tour 73 which is my all time fav driver shaft. It doesn't help MR's own website literally contradicts the Fubuki Profiles and EI Charts. If you go there now it Claims the J is High Launch Low spin & the V is Mid Launch Low Spin. Then on the EI chart it's totally the opposite. I would love a a profile VERY similiar to the Tour with a slightly lower launch.

To me I LOVED

Fubuki Tour 73 (Driver)

Fubuki ZT60 (Driver)

Fubuki ZT70 tipped 3/4 (3 Wood)

Couldn't figure out

Fubuki J60 (Driver)

Hated

Fubuki Alpha 70 (Driver)

Their website and press release can be confusing sometime. I found a few of their shafts are actually different in reality than what they claim. Thus, as a fitter, it is important to know the shaft by playing them personally and testing them to a vast variety of players rather than relying on what manufacturers have to say...

Any more testing on the V............I'm more concerned with Launch and Feel.

I want the Launch Mid/High & the Feel to be smooth and not boardy.

I can do boardy on Fariway Woods/Hybrid/Irons but for my Driver I want to feel the head when I got for my draw.

Surprised there isn't more love for the V. Anyone that is turned off by the higher torque - don't be...thing is as stable as could be...doesn't feel remotely loose. I was fit into this shaft indoors...numbers were phenomenal but after getting the chance to hit it on-course I can say this is the best performing shaft I've ever hit. Finally found something that consistently gets my initial launch up without sacrificing dispersion. Ball just wants to go high and straight. Coming from a DI-7S and a Chrome+ 6F4...this one takes the cake. It might not be the sexiest shaft out right now, but it flat out performs.

I am playing the V 40 S and I am loving it. The specs given are deceiving as the shaft feels a lot more stable than what the figures suggest. The flex is softer for the v 40 but you won't feel it. My swing speed is about 92MPH and I am getting more distance and control compared to other makes and models. Overall the feel is very clean and the flight is beautiful.

I am wondering if anyone plays fubuki v. what's the reason for fubuki's sudden disappearance? i see no one uses it anymore...

If I remember correctly, the V was basically a batch made for a large OEM order that was mostly cancelled or returned. To recoup costs it was later launched as part of the Fubuki family. With Aldila now as part of the MRC family, the current Ascent (red) is pretty much identical.  Still a quality shaft if it fits your swing.
