Grove XXIII - Michael Jordan's course in Hobe Sound, FL

Anyone have any update on the construction? Nothing online since early last year. Can't wait to see this Bobby Weed design. Big Jordan fan from his Bulls days as I'm a Chicago native.

I played it Feb 3rd. First day the clubhouse was open. MJ was there. Pro Shop is amazing. Course wont be in any top 100 lists but it will be a blast to play. Many different routings. Wind will be its defense. The practice area is out of this world. They thought of everything. Cant imagine being a member there. The vibe will be like no other place on the planet. Feel free to ask anymore questions.

Looks pretty awesome. Definitely doesn't look like a normal Florida course.

Everything you said is correct. Nike designed the glass awning around the clubhouse. When the sun gets up high enough, it projects the elephant print on the clubhouse.

i really want to know how the club makes enough money to break even give it's exclusive membership policy

A lot of top clubs don't break even. I would be surprised if MJ didn't set up a trust to fund the club in perpetuity.

They have some cash in the bank I’d reckon, rumor (I use rumor because I couldn’t substantiate the claim myself but I was told this by a design team member) was is they had 25 (between MJ and other investors) million to start and memberships are 250k (per person not for a family).

That’s initiation which isn’t bad, it’s all relative Bear’s Club is 350k, annual dues if I had to guess are probably 17-25k just off of other clubs in the area that are similar initiation costs.

funny story but in order to say they 100 percent acceptance of invites, they sent out preinvitations to basically confirm you’d join again just so MJ could say he had 100 percent acceptance of membership offers.

i suppose 250 joining is "ok" - i remember Liberty National was asking for 250-300 too when it first opened
