Anyone using the Flightscope Mevo +?

This unit looks interesting and the price is right. Has anyone gotten their hands on one? When I called Flightscope it seemed like units are delayed for up to 6 weeks.

Nope. I've heard 6-8 weeks out of China. I've reached out to 3 vendors to see what their lead times are based on in-stock.

Let me know if you end up finding one locally. I think this pandemic is going to last a lot longer than others are projecting. Seems like the Mevo+ is good as you can also take it to the range and course.

I have one. Been using it outdoors since early February. I’ve posted a few times in the thread linked by @DFinch

I didn’t buy it because of the simulator options, but with this pandemic, I think I’m going to see if I can find a way to use it.

Just dont get desperate and buy a skytrak.

With the new software release is Skytrak any better on faster driver ballspeed?

I noticed in the sim forum Mevo+ has struggled with push draw spin axis on longer clubs or has this been foxed as well?

I can’t comment on simulator setting, but I haven’t had an issue with a push draw reading outside.

i can see lots of people buying skytrack right now just because its the only thing you can get. You be lucky to get a mevo+ by July as they are on lock-down right now and no one is working. Its 8 weeks+ out alone. So lots of people would settle for a skytrack.

If you really need a launch monitor, check with @Kcct82 on his XI Tour. Looking back, a very prescient move on his part. You can find them on eBay. The only problem with hitting them in the backyard might be having a net that is tall enough. You need 13 feet of flight for better data. If I put my kid's net 13 feet away, he would be launching at least the 8-L clubs into my neighbor's yard/house.

I ordered mine Feb 20th from Rain or Shine Golf and as of their update yesterday, they are saying Early to Mid May. I'd like to think I'm on the front half of the back order pool at least.

Just aim the net at the neighbor that is an a$$. 13 is it really that much?

My kid is definitely getting more use out of the Tour Xi now. About to build a quick and dirty conduit cage since regular consumer nets are not high enough to catch balls from higher lofted clubs. For the Tour Xi, short indoor mode requires a minimum of 8ft ball flight. I looked into golf simulation but it seems I’ll have to pay $2500 for E6 Connect. I think I’ll pass...

If I am outdoor and hitting into a net in my backyard, I would treat it as indoor. Just me. Their setup instructions say minimum 8 feet indoor. I'd certainly want to get a little more than that. Metallic dots would be in my requirements list.

It's only $6,500. :-) Plus, you can use it at the range later after all of this virus stuff blows over.

How's the accuracy for you? Do you have a backyard to setup a net/cage?

The accuracy is actually really good both on and off the range. Carry distance is accurate through out my kid’s bag, but do keep in mind we’re talking about a 100 yard carry with the driver. I have no reason to doubt its accuracy in longer shots though.

I plan to put my projector to good use, so I’m gonna build a cage in our garage. For now, we’re just hitting into a cheap bet from amazon.

I do love the fact that you get some golf courses with the Mevo+ or skytrak though. $2500 is a lot to shell out on top of the already expensive Tour Xi.

Please document your garage simulator build-out and post it here. I am looking at doing the same thing. Which projector do you have?

To be honest I'm not sure. I havent had a ST in about 2 years. The folks I play with online still hate it equally as much as I did.

We've had a Mevo for about a year.

You don't need 13 feet of space for the device. There are 3 modes, Outdoors, Indoors, and Pitching. Pitching is best for work into the net, and it's very accurate under 13 feet of space.

If you guys get one, I strongly recommend buying metal ball dots off of eBay. The Mevo picks up the ball much better indoors if you've got the metal dots on the balls.

Also, I wouldn't spend a boatload of money for a net. You can build your own with kits for under $200 that are offered by several companies online. They'll sell you the steel corners of the frame, and the netting, then you go to Lowe's or Home Depot and have them cut metal tubing at whatever height/length/width you desire. I saw a frame For Sale on the BST earlier this week for cheap. Not sure if the guy sold it.

The device and setup is a really good way to determine club selection changes as your junior grows and gets stronger. It also works well to determine how much distance you're losing by getting old. ?

Do you need the metal dots outdoors?

No. You don't "need" them indoors just can give you better spin numbers.

No. Just set the Mevo App to Outdoors and swing away at range balls.

I mentioned the metal dots for indoors b/c the ball is traveling such a short distance, the Mevo will occasionally miss the shot altogether (without the metal dots).

Mevo is a great tool for the range. We have the GC2 in the garage, but they take the mevo to the range and it works great. If you buy and go that route. Try to ensure you use ball that aren't worn down.

The video feature is a nice touch.
