Faxon said that Tiger was using a new putter but didn't elaborate. Sounds like he is practicing a new stroke as well. Any ideas on what it is? Scotty or Nike?

Wow. This thread popped up fast. ;)

Heard the same thing and had to rewind it to make sure I heard what I heard.

Maybe it's his "practice putter" (Nike Method putter forged by Mizuno and stamped by Nike).

Can't see him bagging his Cameron when he'll need as much familiarity and peace of mind coming back after a tumultuous six months.

Whether one is a Tiger supporter or not (that would be me), it seems like a very odd time for him to switch the most important club in his bag out. I wonder if Team Tiger see's switching to a Nike putter as a way to reward Nike for sticking with him?
Lol. I was thinking the reverse. Nike saying: "If you want to stay with us, you WILL use this putter!"
Sort of thinking the same thing.

Seems like if you want to see Tiger, all you have to do is go hang out at the range. Wonder how close Faxon came to having some "muscle" come out of the bushes to tell him to get lost? Wonder when Stevie will show up so that at least he knows where Tiger might hit it?

These two are in the same ball park. I was thinking the same thing. Nonetheless, if Tiger is going to use a Method putter, it must be a monster putter.

I think tiger's tryin' to play with that putter since a while... My boss saw him play june 09' in Fox Harbour for a Nike charity event and he was gaming the Method to play a match against Barkley and Haney. Tiger himself said that he was tryin' to get used to his method but that it was kinda difficult to took off the bag a piece of equipement that works for him.

Faxon's appearance seemed like a kind of "leak" to me. I'm not sure I would appear on air with "news" on Tiger shortly after walking off the course with him. Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist, but it seems he or his camp might be trying to break the ice a bit, so to speak. A little info here and there, a mention of possibly new equipment, an impression of humility, etc. Faxon making the jump to behind the microphone?

Tiger recently lost how many MILLIONS of dollars in endorsements ? IMO It would behove NIKE to now encourage Tiger to use the Method putter (encourage = pay him BIG $$$)

1. Tiger may be willing to use it to make up for millions lost

2. Nike may see an opportunity to help Tiger make up some of his losses and also make the Method putter sore off the shelves in stores and pro shops.

this is just MO

lol or Tiger had Brad leak it so that Scotty would call and offer $$$$$$

Nike vs. Scotty price war : )

Dude. Do you really think a man who cares about winning probably more than anything else in his life (maybe even more than his family), would switch just for money? He's already worth nearly a billion (if you believe him) or more than a billion if you believe the media. He doesn't need the money. It wouldn't be a factor. Absolutely zero chance. Nike needs him more than he needs them. Period. :)

Do you really think someone that putts as good as Tiger can not switch putters after being off the tour since november. He can switch putters without missing a beat. Trust me its ALWAYS about the money... and winning. If he can putt as good with the Nike as the Scotty, why not make the money, and trust me he can putt as good with a Nike if he practices with it.

The one thing I do know about people with big time money, is that they all have it because they seriously care about money and getting even more of it.

Lol. You don't get it. You ever had a club that you trusted more than any other in your bag? Ever change it? Remember how hard that was to do? B/c that trusted club had been to war with you. Hit tons of great shots. Never let you down (or at least you never remembered it letting you down). Now imagine you are Tiger Woods and the club in question is your putter. It's won you 13 majors. What... nearly 100 million bucks? That putter probably feels like an extension of his own body. Will he switch ever? Probably. Will it be at Augusta this year, his first tournament back? Hell no.

I think Elin broke the Scotty getting him out of the vehicle because she was "trying to help him". Perhaps the Scotty stamp is imprinted permanently inside his lip/jaw/on jawbone.
+1 was gonna post the same thing, maybe Elin bashed in his scotty.

Nope.... I can clearly remember every club I own letting me down one time or another lol

That is definitely true. But you gotta remember, making bank isn't what Tiger is all about. It's almost perk of what motivates and drives him. And what motivates and drives him is winning.

All but the first, and that was a different Scotty. I may have miscounted...he's won 14 total right? Or is it 15?
[s]I thought his first major was with a Ping putter [/s]My mistake, it was a Scotty-- and 14.
