Hellstorm and I just played the quarry last week, that was a good time. Tough course if you don’t know the holes though

Quarry is definitely a nice course they just hosted a golfweek am tour event on Saturday that I'd planned on playing but my game isn't anywhere near where I'd like it to be at the moment so I opted to skip it and played a scramble at spring valley it's a fun track to play greens are good shape and fast as they always are. I played my league there for the past couple years till this year when I joined a new league at Sable creek.. I miss the money those guys would throw around at my spring valley league though

Played stonelick hills saturday afternoon, while course looked green and to be in amazing shape it was super soft and wet. Regulars we played with said it is always soft and wet. Find this hard to believe in late August. Had multiple balls plugging in middle of fairway! Greens were ok where they weren't soft and bumpy. My favorite course in the area, not sure now though if you get negative roll and you sink in everywhere!

I played Sunday and couldn't believe how wet the place was. Almost to the point of concern for root rot of the sod. Course has seen a ton of play recently (likely due to the lack of courses of similar quality/layout in the area) and it kinda showed.

yeah it has always been my favorite course and not sure I will go back this year or for the years to come! It is a shame too it is a great track and layout. I think they are more concerned with keeping the course green then being playable

They recently had girls districts, i believe, pulled because of course conditions. From the picture in the article and reviews from this year it sounds really bad.

I heard that place is kinda nice. They have a very small membership I hear. I've heard some people just showing up and paying to play even though their open play is on Monday.

You can use golfnow or their website to get on pretty much any day after 11 am. Played on labor day and today. No big deal might have to join there if they keep running membership specials

Yeah I think it's pretty reasonable for a membership there. It's just a bit far from me when Elks is much closer.>

I played Brown's today for the first time in a few years. Conditions, especially greens, were great. Greens were very quick and some of the best I played all year. My gut tells me they are hurting for members. They only had about 24 total carts for the whole place and it was mostly a ghost town both Sunday morning before I teed off and still was by mid afternoon. I hope they survive. I can't see both Wildwood and Brown's Run surviving alot longer in Middletown.

Yeah Brown's run is great! I'm a member at the elks but I may have to look at becoming a member out at Brown's. They did have a special for $200 a month, don't know if it's still going on though

A friend and I are heading down to play Virtues this Friday from Akron and are hoping to play a second 18 somewhere in the afternoon. We are looking at Eagle Sticks or Apple Valley. I've played Eagle Sticks twice before but its been about 15 years and I've heard the conditions aren't great right now? I've never played Apple Valley but hears its really good. Anyone have any thoughts?

I play Apple Valley multiple times throughout the year. It's a great course! I would definitely recommend it.

So it looks like Apple Valley is the winner. Really looking forward to playing both. Its seems like every year i say I have to get down and play Virtues and we never get around to it. Glad I'm finally getting the change to play it.

Private course, but I got to play The Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville yesterday. Course was immaculate and really enjoyed the layout overall. Wide fairways, but plenty of trouble on-offer when going for Par 5's in two or taking driver off the tee on some Par 4's.

Heard a rumor this week that Champions is closing. That would be a shame - great layout though it needs some TLC. Though there was also an announcement earlier this year that a new clubhouse/banquet center was going to be built, so I guess time will tell.

Have no fear. Champions is closing for serious improvements. They are building a new clubhouse with banquet facilities and a new parking lot. The City apparently has lots of extra money to spend.
I wish they could find a way to make it drain better. It’s always so **** wet In the spring. With my bad hip I really can’t do cart path only....which it always is after even modest rain.
