Callaway X460 Tour driver

Tri-Ball SRT putter-nice!
Stopped by my home course for lunch while Callaway rep was there visiting my club pro. He let me try out X 460 tour 9.5* w/26.3 stiff shaft and it's really a nice driver. At address, I thought they look so much better than FT-3 and 454 drivers. I only hit 6 balls due to my lack of time and all of them went very nice with high ballflight due to 26.3 shaft.

I also hit few putts with new Tri Ball SRT putter and I believe that it will sell well. I thought it rolled nicely. Callaway will have Dual Ball SRT putter but the rep did not have it with him. Sorry for no pics of the putter since I was short on time.

There's a new version of Big Bertha irons that will fit to mid-higher handicap players. Looks very radical but should be a forgiving irons for that crowd.

I only took pics of X 460 driver and here it is. I know there's pics of them somewhere here but I can't find it.

The driver looks really nice, IMHO better than the FT-3.

I told Callaway rep that I did not like the way FT-3 looked and performed also told him that I liked this X 460 driver so much better. Tour's face was supposed to be .5* open but it did not seem that way to my eye. More like very square. Standard X 460 driver's face has slightly closed face.

I assume that the 460 is not a Carbon driver? Otherwise, looks like a heck of a solid head. Very nice and very clean!

Thanks for the pic BILL!

I have a change to reshaft one of the Japan version of this driver ( X18 ).

I guess this is the US version of X18.

The face volume of this driver is much bigger than the FT3 and Yes it has a composite crown on the top part ( is not all the way to the sole ala FT3 ), It sit nice and square at address and it sound more metalic rather than the ft3 mix metalic and composite.

Per the callaway rep. No composite in the X Driver Tour or standard all Ti. Different than the X-18 in Japan which has a much longer heel to toe shape.

The triball SRT is also Callaway? I can't imagine 3 balls, I only really see 3 balls on the 2ball knockoffs. I have seen 5 ball knockoffs.

Odyssey but Cally owns it anyway.

Looking back, I wished I had took pics of that putter, it's hard to describe what it looks like. It's got 3 ball on the head but much smaller than current 2 Ball. It has some kind of curved rails or stabilizer from the back of the head to the ends of the head just behind the face. I would say it's about 5-6" from face to back. It's got White Steel insert just like the White Steel putters. The headcover is almost large enough to put on your head if you want to look like a conehead. :idhitit:

I'm imagining a doc with 3 balls on top...is that a good assessment of this putter?

I would say it's more like a 2-ball with an extra ball and a horseshoe weight like the scotty phantom mallet.

Here's the pics courtesy of Equip2golf and thanks MGB too. Asked Gary if it's ok to use them since I like to give credit where it's due.

That looks exactly like the Japanese X-18 driver from all the angles shown in these pics. From above even its heel to toe looks the same. Bummer no Carbon crown tech though perhaps they wanted a higher C.O.G but IMO the carbon in the X-18 gave it that extra bit of carry.

No carbon on the crown keeps the trajectory down. I got to hit both models side by side and much prefer the trajectory of the all ti model. Plus all ti equals $299 instead of $399 with carbon.

That putter could not look any uglier.  It might be one that grows on you after you look at it for a while, but at first glance.. yuck...

Believe it or not, it actually looks better than in the pictures. If you guys don't believe me, just wait until you can see it in person. I like the way it looks much better than when Futura came out.

Could that be the bore-thru shaft? Callaway likes to add that to certain clubs and I think that's what it is.

Forgot to thank Br61, nice images and good on you for having your camera at side for the catch!

Anyone notice that little circle plug on the driver? X-18 has it also, Its just a guess but isnt that used for draw bias?
