There was some good football on yesterday.

 

The 2nd half of UF-Tenn was great viewing, USC-Texas was good. Miss St looked really good last night.

 

It's hard to beat playing 24 holes in the morning, then coming home and watching CFB all day and night.

My 9 year old daughter watched Clemson Louisville with me yesterday. She got super excited as Clemson pulled away. I was so proud.

I hate the NFL way... they need to figure out a way to speed up the college process... but all challenges should just be both review and done quickly

I know getting the call correct is of upmost importance, but I still wish there was no replay at all. The call is made and the game goes on. Much like rib of the green in golf, calls will even out over time.

 

I know with all our technology that that is a pipe dream, but I just detest all the replay delays.

At the ACC? If so ye-ah! That will quiet tiger town down. No conference and no playoffs.

 

I'm only bitter against them because of one friend I have . This guy is insufferable. Already bought plane tickets to go to the championship game etc. can't wait to see him Monday and ask " so. How much you sell those plane ticket for "? His face will turn beet red and he will be mad as crap. And I'll have to hear how the refs blew 100 Calls yada yada and caused the loss. When we all saw the Syracuse QB handle the Tigers by himself. Ton of sacks and still came in for two clutch first downs by putting his body on the line at different times to keep them ahead.

Honestly State had no business losing to South Carolina in the opener. Could be ranked really high if not for a stupid loss. Maybe we can win out and sneak in the back door. Just don't see a one loss team outta the ACC getting in the playoff unless it's Clemson unfortunately.

Depends. A 1 loss PAC12 champ def is not getting in. So if UW loses, it’s going to be the SEC champ, BIG champ, ACC champ and Big12 champ.... well big 12 champ if OU survives with 1 loss or if TCU is undefeated.

 

The PAC12 isn’t very good this year. They all have pretty weak schedules with no real resume building wins.

The SEC isn't that strong. Alabama is beating up on the overrated SEC teams like they do every year. They are good no doubt but there's probably 5 teams that can match up with them on any given Saturday

But the pac 12 teams have extremely poor nonconference schedules. I really think unless the Big12, BIG, or ACC winner has 2 losses, the PAC12 is toast.

But really is Gruden gonna go there? No big time coach has took the UT job and they've tried for 10 years to get a home run hire and have missed every time.

I would be absolutely shocked if Gruden goes to UT... Gruden has been linked to every college gig for the last decade or so. He’s not suddenly going to change his mind for a gig which isn’t even a top 10 college job.

Let's be honest, Gruden would be a disaster. Outside of coining the term "turkey hole", what has he done? Sure, he won the Super Bowl in Tampa after Tony Dungy turned the ship around there and got him set up for success (why they fired him, I'll never understand). He even got the gift that the one Raiders player goes AWOL right before that Super Bowl, and were a mess on the day of the actual SB. They were the better team that year, but you wouldn't know it that day. But after that he crashed and burned.

 

Now magically 10+ years later he wants to coach again? I mean, he's getting paid to work 18 weeks a year, with no fan or alumni expectations from. And he gets his college fix by hosting his QB school. I don't get it.

Gruden is the highest paid ESPN employee (I heard Dan Le Batard say last week JG makes the most at $5 mill/year). Even if Tennessee offered him $10M, IMHO there is no way he'll accept.

Brohm would be pretty good, tough break for purdue if he's going to jump ship after one year. From the sounds of it people were quite high on Gundy, he's built a very strong program down in Stillwater but hasn't been able to close the deal the last handful of years.

 

 

Florida did well with Mullen, gotta assume Frost goes back to the Huskers, Oregon State getting Jonathan Smith should be fine atleast he knows Corvallis and the program well

I don't like Ohio St. jumping Bama, no matter how much they trounce Wisconsin but this is the most interesting question that will need to be answered if it happens. The committee has expressed their opn on Wisconsin over and over, so that should tell you what an Ohio St. win would mean to them.

1-oklahoma v 4-miami

 

And

 

2-wisconsin v 3-auburn

 

I realize in this scenario, Auburn may be 1, Oklahoma 2, Wisconsin 3, and Miami 4, but those are the matchups I'd like to see or the most intriguing matchups with those 4 teams.
