Traveling for business that includes a golf tourney.

 

Picked up TS3 yesterday, and have not hit it in play yet.

 

Do I take it and play it, or play what I know?

If you've got it set up then yes, if you've bought it without checking what the best setting is that will be running through your head the whole round, especially with any mishits!

It's a scramble, it can be adjusted each and every hole.

Why not! I received mine's last week before a Pro-Am Invitational sponsored by Titleist, hit few balls on the range and put it in the play during the tournament. Took me couple drives before I was comfortable with it.

 

Still hitting it very well in few good rounds since then.

Besides, when you tell the guys you bought the new TS3 they’ll wonder why you didn’t bring it along;-)

I hit TS2 yesterday 1st time during scramble.. Awesome club and I know ive gained distance over my Ping 400Max, i was fit for the TS2, not for Max plus sound is better than Ping.

Just about anything sounds better than a Ping driver to me.....

Titleist drivers usually sound great. I thing thats the thing they've always had going for them. Maybe this time they've got some better face tech.

I had a 910 D3 that was great, but I tried the successive models and there wasn't much advancement, at least for me.

Maybe they've finally got another good one.

My company plays in a few benefit scrambles a year and being a WRX'er, I've definitely been in this situation before. I'm not a ringer by any means, but usually end up being the one with the first or second most contributions. Even if I've tested the club indoors and committed to the switch longterm, I'll keep the predecessor in play so that there are no doubts regarding on-course performance.

 

That being said, that's only for the driver. If I have a new club in any other spot in the bag, it's going into play.

There are a couple of comments above that are negative about the sound of the Ping drivers. I agree some of them sound funky in stock form. However, this is very easily rectified.

 

Then all you have remaining is a very high level of performance.

Take your gamer and the TS3.....Its a scramble. don't drop anything. Figure out the course and declare a club dead/out of play.

I say play it! But my buddies can't believe in our money games when they see me in the parking lot taking clubs out of the box and putting in the bag, so I'm a bad person to ask. A scramble and I'm definitely doing it. Although I may hedge my bet and bring both, especially if I could get an extra spot in the bag by removing a club I may not use in a scramble. I wouldnt have to worry about the extra club because I've been playing 13 most of the year.
