How moveable driver weights effect flight?

Curious how moveable driver weights say on a G410 actually change flight. I get the forward backward thing to change spin or moi BUT when you move left and right for a draw or fade how does that change flight?

 

Does it effect the swing path? or if you have 2 exact square hits and the weights are moved would the flight change?

 

Im playing a G30 so can't experiment....thanks

It's just changing center of mass of the club, and effectively changing the "gear effect" of the club to a different point from center.

More wt. in the heel allows toe to close quicker thus promoting a draw. More toe wt. is exact opposite by slowing face closure. We used to do this with lead tape now its easily done with moveable weights.

The closing faster and slower thing is the way most used to think it worked but it's actually untrue, As Larrybud said, it slightly changes the center of mass. Moving the weight toward the toe will make center contact to play as it is a bit of a heel strike promoting a fade. Conversely, moving toward the heel will make center contact play as if a bit of toe contact promoting a draw. I used center contact as a constant, but the principle apples to any contact

Another thing is moveable weights for draw or fade in drivers are basically a gimmick. Tom Wishon has experience making these drivers and he said you need at least 25g of weight moved to heel or toe to even make a slight difference. He said drivers needed 45g to make a noticeable difference. Most drivers currently available offer much less than 25g of moveable weight.

No experience with the G410. Play an R15. For this head/in my case the weight settings affect the ball flight tremendously.

Putting the weight in the heel absolutely makes it easier to turn over. Draw drivers are not a gimmick. Moving the weight does affect COM slightly

This is why is started this thread and getting both answers. Maybe both are true.... that's why I asked. I was curious if weights change face angle therefore maybe going against what Im trying to do at impact or maybe go with it if it helps but sometimes you dont want to much as I like to play all types of shots w driver...

 

1. The weights help change the face angle at impact

2. The weights change the mass location changing flight without face angle change needed
