I shot 70 (33-37) from the white tees at the Champions Course at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont, CA yesterday. I wish I had been keeping good stats for the round, but I do know that I didn't miss any putts inside of 10 feet, and made a couple in the 15 foot range as well. Saved par with 6-10 footers 3 or 4 times. Made 5 birdies, 1 bogie and one double bogie. After that double on 14, I somehow never let the "now I've screwed up my round" thought into my head, and I came back and made birdies on 15 and 16. I had a 20 foot birdie put for 69 on 18, but it wasn't to be. Hopefully, I've "broken the seal" now.

Hey great job man! Golfers should support one another so congratulations to you! Here's to many more under par rounds to come!

Way to go Dave !!! Give me the hole by hole .. I would be interested . .and it might help you ID what you did so well to make this happen. I am guilty of doing this type of post on WRX when I have shot pb's

Once you've done it it's not so terrifying the next time you have the opportunity

BTW, to the clown @dokex .. what a DB move, totally offside and uncalled for sir

Congratulations! Tukwet Canyon was my home course until I moved to Texas in 2017. In fact I'm still a member of the men's club there. Champions is the tougher test of the two courses there, IMO. The California State Open was held on the course in 2015 (Xander Schauffele finished runner up and in Xander fashion shot a final round 65) and the Symetra Tour holds an event there every year. So definitely a good test. My personal best on Champions is a 75 and the green on the par 3 15th is a mystery I never solved, at least the back half. As someone mentioned previously Oak Valley just across the 10 fwy is also an excellent test. Both Tukwet and Oak Valley were designed by Schmidt-Curley design and they also designed Oak Quarry in Riverside, another outstanding course. Great round on a great course!

This one drew some fire and rightfully so! How many of us went sub-par for the first time in competition? Then, what is a decent bet...is it based on income or percentage of net worth LOL?

Again, congrats on a fine round of golf and wish you many more!
