Vegas in Feb

Heading down to Vegas end of February and just looking for thoughts and opinions on where to play and what to expect for course conditions. Paiute will 100% be on our list. Thoughts on TPC LV and Rio Secco? The group is going to pass on Reflection Bay this time as it was sort of a let down last go around. We will have room for 4 rounds on the trip. Any thoughts or advice would be awesome. Thanks

Also forgot to ask any suggested areas to stay in? We won’t be doing the strip thisSee go around as it’s a big pain when there just for golf. Either way off strip hotel or airbnb is the plan for now. See Thanks

Search the forums for a bunch of recommendations on courses. As for hotels, I stay at the Suncoast Resort in the Summerlin area every year when I go for a 4 day tournament. It’s away from the craziness of the Strip and a short drive to everything. It’s certainly not a luxury Resort, but the rooms are nice, the casino is a favorite of the locals, the restaurants are fair, and it’s next to Angel Park golf courses which we use for warm up rounds.

We typically take an Uber if we want to go to the strip to avoid the traffic and parking fees. They are everywhere in Vegas so no waiting.

if you’ve never been to it try the Bacchanal buffet at Caesars. It’s pricey and depending on the time you go the line will be an hour plus, but it is the best buffet in the known universe. Gourmet restaurant food - not cafeteria food. It’s worth the effort. Kinda like some nice expensive courses you need to try at least once in your life.

Awesome thanks for the info. I go to Vegas quite often actually but only once for a golf trip. Usually just stay on the strip with the wife so seeing alternatives for off strip is ideal for this trip. As for courses aside from Paiute and Reflection Bay I have zero knowledge of the golf scene in Vegas.

On my recent trip, Bears Best was the best value in the Summerlin area we played and we enjoyed the course/course condition more than TPC LV.

If you truly have zero knowledge than if you want to spend some coin to play really great golf then Shadow Creek and Cascata are probably two of the best courses there. You will need to book a cheap room for one night at an MGM property (pick whichever is cheapest, you dont need to stay there). Then use the concierge to book a time on Shadow Creek. expect 600+ per person. Cascata is also a fantastic course. Used to be affiliated with Caesars Palace, but now functions on its own. As far as elite golf goes, these are two solid courses. Personally I wasnt too butt hurt by the 600 to play shadow creek. It was that good. It is a chunk of coin though.

Summerlin is a pretty good choice and away from strip and if you stay at Sun Coast, it's real close to Angel Park, TPC and Bears Best. Stayed there for the first time on our last golf trip and was very happy with the larger rooms and views of Angel Park. Royal Links was a quaint course, too.

Trip is booked tentative plan for golf is late afternoon 9 someone close to where we are staying which is spring valley

1 round somewhere mid range in price

day trip up to mesquite to play wolf creek

and for the last day golfapalooza at Paiute to end the trip.

any suggestions for either of the unscheduled rounds? Was thinking maybe angel park for one possibly? Thanks guys

ill be in vegas the first week of jan. were staying at delano though because its a family trip with another family. planning to play the other courses at paiute this time around. only have played snow mountain previously

i would give bear's best a shot. i played there with a golfnow deal last time i was out there. course was great condition and there was almost no one out there, granted it was like 100 degrees at 3pm on a monday afternoon in August.
