AP2 718 vs T100

I have a full set of AP2 T18 and I would like to know if you have any experience with the T100 in order to consider changing them in the near future.

I LOVE my AP2 718 and sadly the T100 didn't arrive yet to where I live, so I coudn't try them.

Do yourself a favor and keep your AP2's. They are more forgiving and quite honestly unless you want a little smaller looking iron and just want the latest version, your throwing money away.

The T100s are beautiful and feel great but your AP2s are just fine

If you weren’t fit for your AP2 there could be improvements otherwise waste of money if both are stock shafts.

Bump. Anyone else hit the 718 AP2 versus the T100? The AP2 must be more forgiving with the slightly larger size & offset?

I played AP2 716 and then 718 and now have T100.

T100:

-Better profile, noticeable improvement with thinning out the topline

-Turf interaction is better

-Feel more solid

-Ball speed was a little better, seems to come off the clubface hotter

-Offset seems to be the same to me but my irons are 1 deg strong so play more offset than stock

AP2:

-Better badging

-Feel a little softer

-Larger topline

-Spin more, 3-5 yards shorter on average with 7 iron when testing because of this

-Maybe a tad more forgiving? Would say they are too close to tell a difference on course though.

 

I wouldn't go buying T100 if you are happy with AP2. You will not see a difference in your scores at all. Give the AP2 2 more years and buy T100 when they make more changes, hopefully the badging is better. AP2 are fantastic the main reason I went to T100 was because I was spinning too much but also needed different shafts. If you have the money to blow though then go for it and buy yourself some new irons.

Totally different clubs. 710 were original and much different than the AP2’s once the tour guys started liking them. I would imagine the T100 would look like a pure blade to you in comparison, but with the same or more forgiveness based on MOI.

I have the 710 AP2's...... I can see the difference by sitting them down, but was curious about turf interaction..traj...distance...ect...

Been forever since I hit the 710. Turf interaction on T100 would be crisper as they are less clunky. The T100 also spin less I would think too.

Tried out t100 during my fitting and didn't get along with it. Head looks noticeably smaller (they looked smaller than my previous set of 718 cbs). Feel wasn't as good IMO either. If you want something different get some CB's. The current gen of t100 and 718 CB's I personally think the CBS are more forgiving. Plus if you're gonna switch why by the same thing again.

The T100's are much more appealing at address with the thinner top line. I know the Maltby Playability factor needs to be taken with a grain of salt but compare the two. There is some useful information that is measured.

I just went to a fitting. Have been playing my AP2 710 irons for a decade and really like them. Tried out the T100 and really hated them. They look nice but dispersion, distance, feel... all way off for me. Even with the same shaft.
