I know nothing of their system or anything of the sort. I was just stating that the average tour player has narrow hips and to add to that less than 200lbs.

Players like beef, lowry, rahm, daly etc are the minority not the majority. There has to be a reason why right?

Jack’s body type is the minority in the history of greats. Tiger, Greg, Jones etc, all the majority.

There is a reason why most pitchers are tall and long limbed. There is for sure a advantage to having less mass around the middle. How many big chested women are or have been on lpga tour? Not very many and there’s also a reason they all aren’t going to get implants.

No, you should get lessons with a good teaching professional and create the most efficient swing for yourself that you can. And don't worry about how much you get open - if that's 20* with hips and 15* with chest then so be it. Folks that try to self teach more often than not wander in the desert.

The irony in this discussion...the affect getting hips open early and a lot and the other magic pill, getting as much face on lag as possible...

For the vast majority of golfers, these moves divert them away from what a good golf swing is mostly about.

Keeping the center of mass from coming out too early and getting early club face rotation.

So do most of the other tried and true cliches.

For a huge section of golfers, the longer they delay their hip turn, the more open they get.

The more you treat the golf swing like what it is, an action/reaction movement, the more you get results.

Delay hip turn, get more open, throw the lag away, get more lag.

Too much about the golf instruction has been about trying to directly create the reaction.

People are jumping up and back to create ground reaction force....look at the middle word. You need to push down and forward to get the up and back reaction.

Same works for lag, same works for open hips.

Open with connected rotation comes from, among a few other minor details, maintaining wrist coock through the strike. Dump a lead wrist early and say hello to club disconnection from body turn.

Larry doesn’t necessarily state that all or most tour players are mid core.  There are many examples of upper core players.  The best of them is Jack Nicklaus.  Today, Patrick Reed is an example.  There isn’t at a best way.  Instruction can overtake one’s dominant core region but it is more difficult to accomplish the swing that way.  Since amateurs consist of many older players, it does get more difficult to continue being an lower core player as one gets less flexible or has injuries to the back, hip, neck, etc...  Your dominant core region and external shoulder rotation of the right arm (for a right handed player) will have much to do with how one can swing.  This applies to tour players and you can see that you have more mid and upper core players than lower core players.  It is worth the time to study this.
