Lynx ridge is in great shape

Muirfield is in the best shape I have seen for opening in that clubs history.

The winston is in great shape, greens are pure.

Bty day for a walk spoiled, had lots of birdie opportunities, made 3 that helped cancel out 1 double, no 3 putts, was hitting the driver solid best 287 yds came home with the same golf ball, bonus, fun time broke 80, handicap going down, I could get use to this pinball golf.

I don't play on weekends .... enjoy your May Long.

Went on a 3 day trip to the in-laws place in Kimberly mid week. played Wildstone and shadow mountain. Both courses in great shape. To bad my golf game did not travel with me ....

st Eugene , trickle creek opening this next week.

bootleg Gap and Kimberly golf club both lost their greens. Bootleg slated to open June 26.

I have been to Mackenzie grass range like 4 times this week. Credit card only and only large buckets. Can hit driver (not sure why this is a no no At some ranges and clubs)

Sylvan .... May 21, taken at 2:00 pm .... just over 1 3/4" or 47 mm since last night, the Sylvan G&CC is flooded, our ditch is full now a river draining to the lake, waiting for the Salmon to start running.

More rain in forecast, my t-time was cancelled don't think we'll be playing tomorrow.

Little soggy tomorrow I figure maybe till later in the pm. CH has ok draining but we got a crap ton of rain. Sunday will be awesome with Monday being even better. Enjoy! I hope you are enjoying CH! MIght look into it next year.

Blue Devil Saturday and Monday (Men's League). CH on Sunday (Talons - 3:36pm). Hard to get a decent time at CH now, they're using a lottery for every day and fitting an individual in on the weekend is problematic. Since no one knows me, I'm not part of any foursome bookings.

 

I have Friday off next week, so if my back holds out and the weather permits, I'll be playing four consecutive days.

Found my driver swing in the broom closet yesterday. Went Out to blue devil for a twilight 18 in the 3 club wind and shot 73. Best I have swung it all year

Crazy. That was some wind.

Its a mess out there. This mess is going to be awesome for the courses. I hope the wind isn’t stupid this year. Courses are shaping up so nicely

We got just under 2" or 48 mm rain yesterday afternoon/evening, wind gusting up to 80 kmh .... watched a few guys/women get soaked scrambling to get off the course.

Played this morning, lots of standing water & the mosquitoes are vicious, too.

No kidding. I was out playing Speargrass on Sunday afternoon just as the storm slid by to the west of the course on it's way to Strathmore. Lots wind so much so we had trouble standing up on a couple holes.

I ended up with five flags in my cart as they were getting blown off the pins. I hit 3 wood on the par three 5th hole and didn't get there. It's usually an 8 iron.

I've played 10 rounds so far this year and 8 of them have been windy, two of them in absolutely brutal wind. Guess it keeps the bugs away, but I have no idea how far my new irons go, which is extremely annoying.

This year is shaping up like last year for me. Of all the rounds I played, only two were with light wind (< 20 km/hr). Every round this year has been played in at least a 2 club wind

I agree with you gents. I got new irons too and This doesn’t help me with confidence. Normally I would have offed them by now. Staying patient that we get some calm days. This year is a COVID mess. Can’t find times like you used too, wind is being stupid again, courses came back from winter in spectacular shape but the greens are mostly slow, and can’t get a gooder in there. Rant over! At least Kale found his driver swing! If June is messed than I hope July and August are gonna be awesome. Bug filled awesome

We got approx 1.5" or 36 mm rain yesterday, play a soggy 18 today ... Sylvan G&CC got rid of the pool noodles and installed these Covid gadgets today, you lift it up with your putter, they work pretty good, now you can get a true Ace again!.

Also made in Canada, supplier's a distant relative in Gerald, Sask.

Anyone here played Nanton recently? Or at all?

An occasional golf buddy of mine mentioned a couple years back that he really wanted to get out there, as he had heard good things. Wes Gilbertson mentioned it a couple weeks ago too (https://calgarysun.com/sports/golf/around-the-greens-cant-find-a-tee-time-at-your-usual-hangout-think-rural).

Trying to decide between there and Muirfield for a weekday round with the wife.

Since no one from around Edmonton has posted here for this season... Random 2020 Course Update:

Legends: played shortly after opening pretty good shape... range open

The Quarry: phenomenal shape, range closed when I was there

Black Bull: played on a awfully cold and windy day... Greens were horrible

Northern Bear: Best I’ve seen it besides the 10th green... Range open. Infinity amount of mosquitoes

Cardiff: Average shape, lots of standing water due to rain. Looks like they did some work in some bunkers. Range open before your round.

Edmonton Springs: Played for the first time, average all around. Never had a marshall watch me golf that much. No range
