Found out we have a SIM at the Nexsource Center here in Sylvan were our hockey/curling rink & swimming pool's located.

Mask required until you get into the Sim room .... was told it's $40 to rent the simulator per hour regardless of the number of players.

For a single adult it takes approximately one hour to do 18 holes for four adults it takes around 2.5 to 3 hours.

You can buy beer in the bld, not sure if it's allowed in the SIM room, plan to find out real soon.

Going to start hitting the range pretty regular here right away to get the swing tuned up. Been to the range twice since the end of the season and the swing already feels better then it did then all of last season. Not sure what was up last season.

also think the bag is pretty much set.

might tinker with the Fairway wood slot

Get rid of that non-Taylormade stuff.  I know a guy who could probably help you with a lofted down SIM TI 5 wood 😉

Question for Calgary guys.  I have family in Langdon.  I know someone here at one time said don't waste time on the course in Langdon.  When I look at google maps, I see Boulder Creek, and then what looks to be a former golf course just south of there.  Is Boulder Creek a newer course, or is it the same one that has always been there?

Being from Ontario, it wouldn't be the first course I look to play, but was curious if I am seeing things.

Dropped into GolfTown in R/D they have the new Ping G425 drivers in, thinkin of upgrading this year considering the new 425 Max, you can book a fitting online either before the store opens or after they close for 1 on 1 with a fitter, they said it's $40.00 for approx. 45 min which will be waived if I buy the driver.

There aren't many places to get a fitting in central Ab, anybody have any personal experience with G/T to share?

As well, they also had their grip sale on .... 40% off, check out the website.

Cheers

You are joking right? You saw the state of my wedges, what makes you think they’d be good at fitting?!

Drive to Calgary and hit up Modern Golf.

Nope not joking ... after Sylvan opens up the Nexsource Centre were a local guy rents out a sim, I plan on booking some time & find my swing then book a slot at Golftown to hit the G425 Max, won't be investing in any new shafts have enough high end shafts to stick into the head ..... if I decide to buy it. If I don't, it cost me $40.00 to find out. I don't really like hitting balls in a sim, would be nice to take in Ping Demo Days event at a outdoor range, if that's even available during this covid chit.

All the vendors have demo days in YYC. Usually the really big one is at rivers edge to when courses open they usually have every OEM there. COVID has put a damper on this so not too many demo days were around last year. I hope that changes this year.

Seems that most people have their try out sticks by March and when the demo's do pop up they are into their gamer sticks for the rest of the season 🙂

Cruisin gets a slick look at things at CH. I love that nest concept!

I don't know why people slag/hate GT so much. There are some really good fitters there that care about the customer experience. Most people do not realize, that if you have an idea of what shafts work, they can call the reps and have those shafts brought in to fit with. Modern also has great folks to work with as I have known a few of those folks for many years.

5 more weeks of this and they break the clubs out! I hope I am wrong and we start in mid March though!

I’ve been to a Mizuno demo day @ GT as well.  Plenty of options to be fair that was pre COVID

I went to a Ping Demo Day a couple of years ago at Valley Ridge.  Not sure about since then, however

I'm pretty pumped about getting back out there for lessons, fittings, demo's and such.  Learning as much as I can with the GCQuad before then

I'm gonna hold you to those five weeks mister!

Today we hit 10C, I can see a bit more of the Sylvan G&CC putting green on the other side of the fence, otherwise the 18th fairway is still white.  Going ice fishin tomorrow, we still have 30" solid ice on the lake. Burb's are doing their spawning thing & the Whitefish are chasing them. Still a ways to go before any range or course will open here in Central Ab.

Cheers

Inglewood has pulled some of the tarps off the greens, noticed #10 was basking in the sun when I drove by today.

Still a fair amount of snow on 16 fairway.

Won't be long if the weather stays this warm.

I'd expect TPC Fox Hollow to open next week.
