ever truly compared X100 to S300?

Your mileage may vary, but x100 play significantly stouter and feel significantly heavier for me. The x100s fit me perfectly from the eight iron through the three iron for about seven holes. I can't load the pitching wedge or the nine iron well enough to play finesse shots, and I am slap beat by the end of the round through the bag. Never had the same issues with the s300s.

That said, I am significantly longer with X100 that I am with S300, which I spin way too much. I just can't swing them for an entire 18 hole round.

For me I tend to hit s300 higher, pulled, and with more spin.

When my old 9 iron shaft snapped on the range 2 days before a tournament all my local guy had was s300 and he put it in. I never changed it due to lazy/cheap nature. I had to aim my 9 5-7 yards right of target.

I have the same problem as you. In the past, if I wanted to make a change I had to literally break the shaft that didn't fit. I ended a graphite shaft experiment in some Ping ISIs that way. Went ape on the whole bag after another flared iron shot that went 20 yards too far, right. I'll never forget. The wedges survived and I kept them graphite... and then the whole set was stolen about a year or so after.

As for X100 vs S300. I've played with S200 this year. They feel about the same degree different from the S300 as the X100 is from the S300.

As for fit, only you can know. I played S300 forever and due to that LAZY/CHEAP nature, I never changed. But every single place that I've visited has told me that I need X100 or Modus 3s in X. And now I'm going to finally see how x100 work out on the course (been hitting them at the range for a few weeks, but it's just been too hot/humid to play). Kind of excited to imagine tighter dispersion/consistency. Slightly worried about getting used to the weight. See how it all works out next week when I get out a couple times.

Everybody is different is the easy answer.....

For me I didn't notice that much difference at all other than they launched a little higher for me. The only way I knew they were different was impact feels different due to the stiffer flex, more "higher pitched" if that makes sense. For those saying they are heavier you are very sensitive, all DG shafts are near 130g +/- 5g.

Apparently, I am the odd man out. I can play S-300's and X-100's interchangeably. The X-100's don't feel noticeably stiffer to me.

On the other hand, S-300 and R-300 are like night and day.
